Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
I am trying to setup my router with em7565 modem on tmobile. I tried using a phone sim that was active, but my modem got kicked off the network due to the imei not matching the phone. Is a tablet sim the way to go? Do you give the imei for the em7565 when activating the sim?Didneywhorl wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 1:20 am International an dplus are gone now. thoughts on tmo new pricing on there unlimited plans? start 7/24. I just need to find out how tmo is in my area, there's one tower about 1 mile away but only band 12 and 66... at least from what cellmapper tells me.

Traveldata must be closing down. They canceled my plan without warning and will not respond to any emails.

Know two different people that had Traveldata AT&T plan and just went out with no warning.
Submitted a ticket to them and heard they can't support AT&T plan anymore.

Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
I am unfamiliar with Traveldata but from the symptoms it sounds like this is an AT&T reseller - or atleast, the affected plans are AT&T.
I can't point to sources but ATT is targeting $13/GB this quarter.
I have no idea how these resellers offer these high volume plans and I have a very strong feeling all of them are going to go away sooner than later or jump ship to TMobile.
To be direct, I am actually asking every one on this forum who signs up with any of these resellers, to call them, verify if they are an AT&T reseller and explicitly mention that there's this guy on the internet (me) saying ATT is targeting $13/GB this quarter, culling accounts, even if they are on reseller (business) lines, that don't meet that criteria and that you are afraid your line is going to be at risk - so how will they mitigate that risk exactly.
If they, at that point, offer a TMobile plan, I would take the reseller more seriously but we need to track these things to ensure people who depend on these resellers for critical internet connectivity don't get hung out dry.
Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
AT&T may be cracking down on those that are using phone plan sims in data only devices, and auto/car plans not in cars/autos, but I do not see that they are targeting $13/GB. At AT&T s Prepaid data only the price for tablets and hotspots is 3GB/mo for $25, 10GB for $50 and 18GB for $75. Cricket has a better data only rates of 20GB for $35 and 40GB for $50.LoveMeSomeCALTE wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 10:11 am I am unfamiliar with Traveldata but from the symptoms it sounds like this is an AT&T reseller - or atleast, the affected plans are AT&T.

Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
It's a bit of a mystery. I have a plan for my RV from yet another reseller, https://www.ezmobiledata.com. I ended up with them via a referral from a company who seem to have a good reputation in the RV world.LoveMeSomeCALTE wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 10:11 amI have no idea how these resellers offer these high volume plans and I have a very strong feeling all of them are going to go away sooner than later or jump ship to TMobile.
It's working well so I have no complaints or accusations but I should probably feel foolish when I step back and think about the situation.
The reality is that I'm paying $120 per month to someone who I have no clue who they are or where they are and I guess I don't know exactly what product I'm buying. I pay via PayPal to an anonymous "company" name but it doesn't seem to be a LLC or similar. I've Googled the name etc out of curiosity and can't link it to any person or company.
From their FAQ:
Q: Is it really unlimited unlimited? Can I use over 1 TB if I wanted?
A: Yes and yes! We only offer truly unlimited data for any of your unique needs. We don't limit or throttle your service, ever.
So ... I don't know, it sounds good. I wish I had a contact at AT&T who could tell me what sort of plan it is. I guess I need a backup since I need connectivity for work.

Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
Traveldata gave up on ATT like the others did and heavily promoted T-Mobile. Which did in fact work great for the first couple of weeks then seriously throttled me down. And once throttled down it was everywhere I traveled into any state. Currently its down again. It has been for about 4 days with no reply from Traveldata since I have been parked today. They have taken my money with no issues but customer service severely lacks. I'm hoping they get their stuff together. I am getting tired of bouncing from one provider to another and paying these exorbitant connection fees!

Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
No it was T-Mobile. They did reinstate me after discovering they made a mistake in billing. I had service for about 4 hrs. Been trying for days to reach them since. Took my money and ran!
Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
Yes resellers can be a pain! I have TMobile post pay. Works fine, other than when they are jacking around with the towers.lloyd.arms wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 9:47 pm No it was T-Mobile. Never heard of it. Seems little high though for AT&T or Tmobile.
Can get one line of T-Mobile for less than that or one line of AT&T and add the tablet plan to it.

They're fairly popular in the Rural Internet community. They seem to have a reasonably good reputation over on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Rural_Internet/ but ... like most resellers, nobody quite knows what the real plans are behind the scenes. Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
Can you take a T-Mobile phone plan and put the SIM in a router? I've done that successfully with postpaid AT&T but from what I've read, T-Mobile tends to shut that down pretty quickly. I want to get another plan as a backup but I'm not sure if T-Mobile will work that way. I've started looking at maybe using EasyTether.
Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
Okay, thanks. I'll give it go with T-Mobile postpaid. I'm old enough to get the 55+ discount

Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
Hey man I been having issues with my tmobile service pass few days. I've had two months no issues until now. It stopped working on my Mofi completely. It shows I'm connected to cell bands but I can't get data to work. Then I pop my sim back into the phone and it works perfectly. Do you think tmobile blocked my Mofi? I do have prepaid $60 unlimited plus plan.
Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
Thanks for the info but here's maybe a silly question. If I'm going to put the SIM in a router and I'm happy with SD streaming then is there any advantage in going for "Magenta Plus Unlimited" rather than just "Magenta Unlimited"? It looks like the only real difference is hotspot data which I probably won't use. https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-pla ... ount-plans
Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
I recommend the T-Mobile plans they way I do for the HD Streaming. That is the only reason. If you watch allot of tv with your plan the HD Streaming on T-Mobile is a great picture.tetranz wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 6:57 am Thanks for the info but here's maybe a silly question. Another topic the best way to get a sim card is to order it over the phone. Then act dumb about what phone you have. Say a nephew, friend, neighbor etc has one they said you could use and don't know it is. "They said it would work and you don't know allot about this stuff". They will then send you a pre-activated sim in the mail. That you can put directly into the router. Done this several times for other people.
Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
Okay. I have a cheap model Samsung Galaxy so I can say "I want to use this". It looks like I need to visit a store and show ID if I want the 55+ discount.gscheb wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 7:39 am I recommend the T-Mobile plans they way I do for the HD Streaming. I'm really just looking for a backup / fallback / spread the load option for my router which already has an AT&T postpaid phone plan.
Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
You can do this over the phone and prove you are 55 plus. Reason like to get a pre-activated sim and not put in a phone can keep it a whole full size sim card. Easier to deal with instead of those adapters. Especially if you have an outside enclosure to deal with. Far as load balancing goes. I don't do that just use T-Mobile and use a ton of data so far no issues. Been doing it couple of years now.tetranz wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 7:47 am Okay. Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
I'd done this a few years ago without issues but got worried they would retaliate by cutting off my service and ultimately stopped. I have a spare Android with a free Tmo number + old unlimited hotspot international plan, that I tether my router to at times which is good enough for back up.
Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
Hi, newb here please help!...recently had an ATT unlimited plan that was disconnected through a 3rd party reseller... Current setup is mofi4500...looking to add a Tmobile sim to it (currently have Tmobile for 2 cell lines), my question is should I add a Tablet plan (Magenta for Tablets) or a new phone line plan? Would either sim work or is there a reason to go with one over the other?
Appreciate the help!
Thank you

Recently my ATT reseller (neverthrottled) quit working and I'm looking for a new carrier. I really want to use my own router (we826 and expensive antenna) so that rules out viper. I've been seeing a number of complaints that Nomad had hit real problems. I received a marketing email from them today. Anyone know if they have their system squared away now?
Generally it looks like ATT availability has gone way down and prices have gone way up. Anyone know what happened to cause this?
Re: LTE Internet Providers listing
Was just looking at tmobile Magenta Plus https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-pla ... VW09118512
So looks like $10 for the sim, $43 for the plan and $20 for the tablet access or $63 per month ongoing...
Can use a fake ipad tablet imei? Unlimited data with a Netgear MR1100??
During congestion, the small fraction of customers using >50GB/mo. may notice reduced speeds until next bill cycle due to data prioritization. Video typically streams on tablet at DVD quality (480p). Unlimited data on our network.

Its possible. Make sure you also set ipv4 and ipv6 TTL/HL mangles in the firewall rules. TTL/HL value of 66 would prob work.

Has anyone used or heard of Potential Internet? potentialinternet.com. Apparently they're some kind of "startup." Verizon "Unlimited" for $79/month. Not sure if it's legit or not. They were listed on RVMobileInternet.com.
