I am in a fringe area and my 4G two year old tablet plan is having some issues with performance. I have learned that 5G is available in my area for some people so I was wondering if I can just pop the SIM card into my new equipment without having to make an appointment with the store to change ...

As you may know, at&t version of Netgear mr6110 lacks bands n41+n78 - mostly used in Asian countries. I got these pictures from a forum showing that it can be running on band n41 for 5g. Whats the latest firmware for the RM521F-GL ?? Current: Quectel RM521F-GL Revision: RM521FGLEAR05A02M4G Thank you Looking at the specs of the RM521F, it seems to be a lower end 5G modem with only 900 Mbps down speeds. You're better off with the global version RM520N-GL (2,000 Mbps down speeds), or ...

Not sure about Netgear hostpot, but any GoldenOrb flashable router has regular VPN and Wire-Guard built in.
It's possible to add it to hotspots too, you may want to contact Rich Hathaway for that.

Many thanks, got it and will be investingating it :) Try AT^PCIEMODE=0. Works without soldering on a different module of mine. It's mentioned by nok3 on 4pda. (I wasn't sure if it was fine to link so I didn't link it) Hi, in which brand version of the module did you tried the AT^PCIEMODE=0? I ...

Hello guys, to enable USB 2.0, I do not recommend soldering a jumper; it is better to solder a 10-15k resistor 0402. https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=1086317&view=findpost&p=129461423 If you solder the jumper and poorly insulate pin 3, you can burn the modem. Post on the Quectel forum, and say that you have 10 pieces of RM502Q-AE modems to fix. Thanks, it might come to that!! I did get a reply from Quectel support but I am just getting the run-around. I suspect they are going to say they won't support me because I didn't buy from an "authorized ...

Hello and thank you for responding. So, I put the sim card in a phone and had service with no problem. I still have an issue of movie sites being restricted but I had that issue before adding the vpn. So, I guess it's a hardware issue. Is there a way for me to set it up to run through another ...

Re: Inseego M2000 keeps dropping and wont broadcast its SSID

I would pop the sim card into a phone to check if calls and internet are working properly. If it's working in a phone then it's the router, if it's flaky in a phone, then it's the service. That simple test would narrow down the issue quickly to a service or hardware issue. Also, I would not use a ...

I recently flashed my RM502q-ae with firehose -e and the modem became inoperable. It was stuck in FTM, factory test mode. Someone from Quectel sent me a new XQCN partition file. This apparently also deletes the calibrated data which you need to do RF testing. If you're not doing RF testing then ...

I didn't think it'd be easy, and Mikrotik is one of the easiest brands to make a country code change on. But nothing I found on the cheap gets me to my BRS spectrum. Re: Can LTE modems be repurposed as point to point wireless bridges?

Legalities aside, theoretically it should be possible by hacking the firmware. However, it would not be a trivial mod due to the firmware signatures. LTE modems are not designed to work in bridge mode without a base station. If you're looking to bridge two locations up to a hundred meters apart, you ...
