Sierra MC7411 Info with TMO Band 71 CA
Hi, I'm new here. But have tested nearly every antenna and most routers available as I'm in a rural area and LTE is all we got (say no to satellite). I have gotten great info here and started doing custom builds with WG3526's and WG1608's to see what the max I can get from my local towers.
So I set out to see what the max CA combos I can get off the towers out here is and used a LM960A18. Testing with it, the max I can get is 3xCA where I live.
So I just found this Sierra MC7411 and its CAT7, so can do CA on the upload as well. I see it on techship, but they are out of stock. Anyone tracking on this modem, supports the bands I use a lot (2, 4, 14 and 71). Though I don't think you can CA Band71 as its 10Mhz where I'm at.

Re: Sierra MC7411 Info?
Well I got one on order, found a distributor who carries it. Will post up findings as its capable of newer bands, supports 3xCA down and 2xCA up (need to validate the later). This is a nice upgrade to the 7455 at the same price level.

thewirelesshaven.com has them in stock: EM7411
Did you get it locally? Good price?

Re: Sierra MC7411 Info?
Thanks! I got it through a distributor. Its got a new ETA of monday, I was hoping to test it out all weekend. I'm trying to CA up band 71. If I could get band 2 and 71 on Tmo to CA up it would be a game changer. Where I'm at, nothing beats band 71 on upload speed.
So wondering if anyone has done any extensive testing with it on CA and setting up band profiles. Also wondering if anyone has seen it CA on upload?
I want to test The Wireless Haven's panel antenna once they come in stock, that is next on my list. I just finished testing the RSRF 2xMIMO panel and its pretty good.

Re: Sierra MC7411 Info?
So far the 7411 looks like its CA TMO band 71 on DL, which is a first for a router I tested. I'm seeing a DL performance boost of about 40% during peak times. I'm still learning the Sierra AT commands, I'm more familiar with the Quectel's. Output as follows...

So if I'm reading this right, is CA'ing with band4? I'm definitely seeing a performance increase vs a a EC25-AF.

Re: Sierra MC7411 Info with TMO Band 71 CA
So we spoke to an engineer today regarding this modem, right now the modules shipping are using a generic firmware, they are in the final stages of approvals and then carrier specific firmware will be available in the upcoming weeks I believe.
I have gotten this unit to CA with Band 2 at 5MHz and Band 71 and 10MHz, also band 71 and band 4. The CA seems to help with tower congestion with locking to 71 only which is what I usually have to do. This is a solid upgrade in a 826 type chassis without breaking the bank, same slot, same antenna ports and seems to take all the same commands as the 7455.
I have not tested it in a Mofi 4500 SIM4 yet, which has the 7455 in it but its on my to do list as it would breath new life into this unit. I do have an email into this with them.

Re: Sierra MC7411 Info with TMO Band 71 CA
For whoever is interested, I did speak with Mofi last night and v3 of their 4500 is said to have this modem, they are waiting on a large shipment of the modems. They are working on a 5500 that does not have official specs yet, but is said to have upgraded wifi and can take high end modems.
Am waiting on a sample unit of the V3 to test his modem to see what changes/improvements have been made.

Re: Sierra MC7411 Info with TMO Band 71 CA
Last time I spoke with someone at MOFI (June-ish ) they had mentioned Sept/Oct as the target release date for the 5500. I guess with everything going on that got pushed back significantly.
Re: Sierra MC7411 Info with TMO Band 71 CA
They are waiting on a very and I mean very very large shipment of 7411's, and I asked them if it was ok to communicate that the 4500 V3 will be based on this modem (update, the M2 version which is the EM model). It was just pure chance I read about this modem on Sierra's web site and then found a few distributors that had them in stock, due to the fact that I wanted CA with band 71 and the frustration I have with the Telit's detection of data plans - which prompted me to contact them. They think this modem is going to be the sweet spot price/performance wise. I can't say I disagree at all.
For the 5500, they have been testing it for a year now with 3 different modules. But they are not sure what high end modem they are going to use, but they are leaning in a certain direction but I didn't get permission to share what they told me. They are going to have a 5G version, I think they said early next year.
They did agree to send me an engineering sample of the 4500 V3 this year because I have a few of these 7411s.

Re: Sierra MC7411 Info with TMO Band 71 CA
Did you get a chance to put it in the mofi4500 v2 yet? If so how did you get it to work? I tried it in one of my mofi4500 v2 boxes and it wouldn’t work on the stock Mofi firmware but it does work on the wifix firmware.
