LTE Modem purchase Question
I am currently using a T-Mobile data plan and I am going to purchase a better LTE modem to use with it. I am looking at the Quectel EM12-G CAT12 M.2 Modem and the Sierra Wireless EM7411 CAT-7 LTE-Advanced Modem. I like the Quectel EM12-G for the 3x carrier aggregation, but I also like the Sierra Wireless EM7411 for the band 71 support. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: LTE Modem purchase Question
The EM12G will likely have better overall performance, but if B71 is a deal breaker then go with that.

Hey todddw, I see from one of your other posts that you are also running a Quectel EM160. Just wondering how these two modems compare? Was the EM160 worth the extra money?toddw wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 1:02 pm I run the 7411 on tmo, have gotten it up to over 80mbps when it aggregates 71 and 66, ymmv depending on tower....

I think it is. I love the EM160
Re: LTE Modem purchase Question
Thanks for the reply. I ordered one from The Wireless Haven, should be here tomorrow. I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Re: LTE Modem purchase Question
Yes I have both. If you don't need band 71 the 160 outperforms it. Especially when it aggregates band 2, 4 and 12 or band 2, 12 and 66. And because it can CA on UL it will match or beat 71. Where I'm at band 71 is great on UL so when the 7411 combines 66 and 71 is also awesome. But I wouldn't hesitate running the 160 on tmo. The 160 is what I use full time as I'm testing it with the H721 router with no issues at all.
