Sierra Wireless AirVantage firmware updated

Post by gscheb »

Hello,

Seen this mentioned in another post here : https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=884#p6074

Was wondering when one would want to do this? Under what circumstances would think it was necessary?

For example have another post here : https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=932

Would this possibly help this situation?

Sierra Wireless releases firmware updates for its modems (i.e., MC7455) --two or three times a year for some.

With each new firmware update, they issue Release Notes that explain what issues the firmware corrects and/or addresses.

Whether or not this update is necessary may well depend on if the release notes applies to a certain carrier one is uses or issue that the user is experiencing.

The AirVantage is just a method of updating the modem Over the Air.
