WE826 MC7455 Goldenorb drops internet on Scheduled Reboot
I have a ZBT-WE826 with a Sierra Wireless MC7455 and the latest GoldenOrb 2017-12-15 Firmware. My problem is when I set it for Scheduled Reboot @ 4AM I get up to no internet because it hasn't reconnected to AT&T network and I have to do a system stop, power off and power on to get reconnected to AT&T. Is this normal with Scheduled Reboot??

Anytime you flash the router firmware, you need to do a hard reboot. Thereafter, it will generally connect with no issue--assuming everything is configured correctly.
Re: WE826 MC7455 Goldenorb drops internet on Scheduled Reboot
That goes without saying. We're not talking about not reconnecting after firmware update, the question I asked was about not reconnecting after a scheduled reboot which is still happening after updating to the latest firmware.Anytime you flash the router firmware, you need to do a hard reboot.

You might research and/or post your question over the ROOter/GoldenOrb forum.
Re: WE826 MC7455 Goldenorb drops internet on Scheduled Reboot
I had this issue as well.
WE826-T2 on GoldenOrb_2019-03-10 with mc7455 in QMI mode. When I enabled the Scheduled Reboot feature, I too was waking up with no WAN connection and was doing a hard power cycle to resolve.
Instead, try this if you desire a daily reboot:
First, disable the Scheduled Reboot feature.
Then enter the following into the Scheduled Tasks field under System and hit Submit. This will reboot the router at 03:00 and cycle the mc7455 at 03:15 daily. Has been working for me. Adjust time to suit your needs.
If your mc7455 is in QMI mode
0 3 * * * sleep 70 && touch /etc/banner && reboot -f
15 3 * * * /bin/sh /usr/lib/rooter/pwrtoggle.sh 2 >/dev/null 2>&1
If your mc7455 is in MBIM mode
0 3 * * * sleep 70 && touch /etc/banner && reboot -f
15 3 * * * /bin/sh /usr/lib/rooter/pwrtoggle.sh 1 >/dev/null 2>&1

Thank you, thank you! This has been driving me nuts and researching everywhere with no luck until I finally found your answer. Registered to the forum just so I could thank you.
I guess the powertoggle in the second command line is what forces the hard reconnect of the modem. I get the same issue when doing a soft manual or scheduled reboot from luci GUI. The modem simply will not reconnect, have to pull and reconnect power. Basically makes the manual soft reboot option useless but at least the cron scheduled reboot will work now.
Thanks again!

What version of firmware are you using?steveg wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 12:41 pm Thank you, thank you! This has been driving me nuts and researching everywhere with no luck until I finally found your answer. Registered to the forum just so I could thank you.

The latest WiFiX version of GoldenOrb has a tab in the menu under Services (The Wireless Haven Ping) where you can activate the ping script without the scheduled reboot. Works really well.
Re: WE826 MC7455 Goldenorb drops internet on Scheduled Reboot
Thanks JimHelms, I've played with that setting and have the latest WiFix installed. I was looking more to do scheduled reboots (cron)and this has fixed that. I'd have to check again but seems my modem didn't reconnect when trying The Wireless Haven Ping option. I got really frustrated because no kind of soft reboot would result in the modem reconnecting, then found this fix for the cron schedule.
Seems there is something with the 7455, at least for some people, that any kind of soft reboot the modem doesn't want to reconnect. Have to always pull power. At least the second command srihw11 posted forces the connection. The soft reboot option in System still does not work, for me anyway. It reboots but no connection.
I'm using latest generic 7455 firmware on AT&T if that makes any difference.
PS: Even doing a restart on the modem after soft reboot doesn't force it to connect.

It could be a localized issue with the way the tower wakes/connects with the modem.
Gotta use whatever means necessary to accomplish your goal! ;D
