WE826 + MC7455 Issues

Post by Twoods196 »

Hello All,

I have built 3-4 of these setups with an mc7455 and a we826. However, this particular one is giving me a headache. Ive tried so many different things including everything on the troubleshooting page. So im curious if anyone can help point me in the right direction. The Debug Information constantly repeats the same thing over and over(after it runs through the initial info of modem info, sim info etc) the message it gives me is:

Code: Select all

/dev/ttyUSB2 AT+CPMS="SM"
+CPMS: 0,30,0,30,0,30
From the information ive read this has something to do with SMS an im not sure if its the actual cause of my issue or not. When running at!gstatus? I get a few statuses that are concerning, one is the PS State: Not Attached, EMM State: Deregistered. Also there is no values in the PCC RxM nor PCC RxD. This leads me to believe that its not getting a signal. Ive used it in this location in the past without any issues. So then I thought maybe it was the u,fl connections to the modem to antenna. I have checked them numerous times. One of the connections does feel looser than normally with a u.fl connector but they both still make a decent connection. Ive also tried using different antennas with a different u.fl cable going to the modem with no luck.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of how i can narrow down the issue? Below is some of the information I have gathered trying to get it to work. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Could be a number of things, try to run through the following...
Make sure it's flashed with GoldenOrb/WiFix firmware (if it's not already done so, important!)

Do a factory reset:
AT!ENTERCND="A710"
AT!RMARESET=1

Wait till the modem reboots, then try to get a status:
AT!ENTERCND="A710"
AT!GSTATUS?

Set the modem into QMI mode:
AT!ENTERCND="A710"
AT!USBCOMP=1,1,10d or MBIM mode: AT!USBCOMP=1,1,1009
AT!RESET

Wait till the modem reboots, then try to get a status:
AT!ENTERCND="A710"
AT!GSTATUS?

If still no response, then it could be any one of the following:
The main board of the WE826 may be defective or has bad power supply, try another good 2.5A@12V power adapter.
The SIM card card could be defective/inactive, try inserting the SIM into a regular phone and make a call.
Maybe the SIM tray not making good contact, may need to bend the metal holder/pins down a bit.
The modem itself may be defective (though unlikely), so either connect another modem or connect the modem into another WE826 to test it.

Good luck, and let us know if and how were you able to fix it.

Yeh I've tried all that. This is the second router and second modem as I thought I had a issue with that at first. I'm thinking Its something on carrier side. Gonna give them a call. Will post back what I find out. Thanks for the response.

MBIM CONNECT: FAILED SUBSCRIBER REGISTRATION

This is a pretty good hint that it is network related.

Might call the carrier and have them reactive the SIM card.
