Need good out side antenna for MOFI4500-4GXELTE

Post by AshleyAppleton »

I have poor cell service in my house. Had to buy a booster. So my internet speeds are very slow. Pretty sure a out side antenna for my mofi4500 would help. What is a good antana for this and cables and hook ups. Connections and what not.

Depends a lot of carrier, tower distance and terrain.

Use Google Earth a lot when installing rural 4G for low income families. Can see distance (after using cellmapper.net to locate tower) and after little hack, obstructions in path. Here is a great tutorial on using:

@swwifty made a good antenna comparison here:

start by placing your mofi about 4' in front of the booster antenna and see what happens with the speed. It won't be ideal but those boosters do not work like you might think, signal strength drops off extremely quickly as you get farther from the indoor antenna. If you truly have weak signal the more powerful 60+db boosters are really only good for providing signal to about a 10-25' radius from the indoor antenna even though they are rated to boost a 5000+ square foot house and they really only work in one room.
