EM7565 vs MR1100

Post by proto »

Hello Friends,

I have a MR1100 on AT&T and it has been working very well. I am having fun learning about LTE tech etc and was considering trying out the EM7565 with a custom build. I was curious if I would see similar or better LTE / mobile performance from the EM7565 compared to the MR1100. Considering pairing it with the WE826-T2. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

The Netgear M1 has a Cat 16 modem versus the Em7565 being a Cat 12. Chances are you would not see an improvement. Although that might depend on the antenna setups more than the modems. You also have to consider Carrier limitations.

I recently did a build of a WG3526 with a EM7565 installed to see how it would fair against my present Netgear LB1120. The Lb1120 has a Cat 4 modem. Both operating on AT&T network although different MVNO's. My testing so far has shown minor difference between the two. With the edge actually going to the LB1120.

All that said, as a learning experience it can be interesting to give it a try.

Using the custom build would allow you to also use it on Sprint bands, as the M1 does not allow it I believe. M1 is a good unit, but it also has limits.
