Need Help with EM20-G
Like the title says I need help getting the modem to work on a wg3526 I got it all set up installed we fix and gets stuck on connecting or it doesn't find the modem. If someone can point me in the right direction as to what to and how to install I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance

Re: Need Help with EM20-G
Log in to the web ui on 192.168.1.1 and navigate to the left side menus --> Modem -- > Miscellaneous --> AT Command Terminal
In the terminal enter the command:
That will return your modems firmware version. Tell me what it is please.
There have been issues with the Quectel EM20G's newest firmware not wanting to play nice with the rooter firmware. There are workarounds, but its generally simpler to just downgrade the firmware.
Also, how do you have the EM20 installed? Are you using a mpcie to m.2 adapter or are you using a usb adapter plugged into the routers usb port?
In the terminal enter the command:
Code: Select all

Re: Need Help with EM20-G
What plan are you using, from ATT directly?
What APN are you using?
Where did you put the SIM card?
Does SIM information show up in the SIM related fields under menu-> Modem-->> Nerwork Info-->> its about halfway down

Re: Need Help with EM20-G
Last night after several days of trying everything turned out it was the new little cables inside but my modem were faulty.modem shows up still as connecting if I put an at command then it will go and show everything put then I'm limited at what websites I can go into. For example lets me see news sites but if I go onto let's say steam or epic it won't. I put the sim card on the sim tray on the 3526 I'm using firstnet- broadband but changed it to broadband only and my service hasn't disconnected so far going on for 2 hrs. So in modem it shows the modem and sometimes the modem info numbers and sim info and sometimes my phone number

Re: Need Help with EM20-G
Which SIM tray are you using? The one on the adapter or the one on the side of the wg3526?

Re: Need Help with EM20-G
If it were me, I would start over.
I would first remove the EM20-G and install in the USB to M.2 adapter and downgrade the firmware per this TUTORIAL.
Next, and while the modem is removed, I would use the Firmware RECOVERY Method and install the latest WiFiX firmware for the WG3526.
Once installed, hard reboot the router, login and install the firmware a second time from within the WiFiX UI.
Login and set your time zone and your APN to:
and SAVE & APPLY.
Then, shut it down, and reinstall the EM20-G.
Boot up the router, login and give it a minute or two to stabilize and to load the drivers for the EM20-G.
Next, I would reset the modem to OEM status to erase any configuration that may effect it:
Give it about 20 seconds, then unplug power from the router.
Next, install your SIM Card, and power up the router.
I would be surprised if you do not connect within a few minutes, and be able to read all of the stats (to exclude the temp) from the Modem Network page.
While doing all of this may be a pain, it will help to eliminate and/or solve issues that may only be compounding the more you configure it.

Re: Need Help with EM20-G
Not really. One exists but can't be recommended until a V3 releases and proves it won't eat modems anymore. NEXG H721punkguy00017 wrote: Fri May 15, 2020 8:41 pm Question with m.2 adapter I'm limited to 400 mps is there a router where u can plug that modem directly into?
Another is so new no one has them to test. Orders are placed, time will tell. ZBT WG1608
Haven't found any others.

Re: Need Help with EM20-G
You CAN, though, use a usb 3.0 adapter from The Wireless Haven and plug it into the wg3526s usb port and get full usb3.0 bus speeds.

Re: Need Help with EM20-G
So it's better to run the modem off of the USB adapter on the modem than it is to connect directly to the modem using an m.2 adapter? Also is there any configuration I have to go into settings or is the router going to find the modem automatically once I plug it into the router and power it on?

Re: Need Help with EM20-G
The USB to M.2 adapter is only used to flash the modem firmware behind a PC.
Thereafter, reinstall the modem in the router.
There should be no other configurations necessary. Just follow the steps in my post.

Glad you got it up and running.
The easiest way to program a band or group of bands is using this Spreadsheet.
