Hi all,
I desperately need some help. I recently put together a WE826-T2 router with a Sierra 7565 modem and using the sim card from my tablet that is on my Verizon plan. I have 15GB of tethered data per device. I followed the tutorial and got it up and running without a problem and set the TTL setting to 65. I checked stats and its showing up as tethered data. I followed the suggestions and switched it to 64 but no luck. I googled it last night and saw someone recommend to try 117. Did that but still no difference and I maxed out my tethering data for the month already and it just reset yesterday. Am I missing something or is there another value to try? I don't have access to any other form of data where I live. The cable company just extended their service in my area but they stopped a half down the road with no indication they are going to run the rest of the way.
Thanks in advance

Re: TTL settings for Verizon Tablet
The issue could well be IPV6 related. I would disable the Firewall > Custom TTL Setting > Save and Apply.
Then, go to Firewall > Custom Rules and copy and paste the following, and Restart Firewall:
Thereafter, do a power off/power on reboot.
Once connected to the network, keep a close watch on your hotspot data.
If it is still bleeding through, then try changing the 65 to 117, and again reboot.
Then, go to Firewall > Custom Rules and copy and paste the following, and Restart Firewall:
Code: Select all
iptables -t mangle -I POSTROUTING -o wwan0 -j TTL --ttl-set 64
iptables -t mangle -I PREROUTING -i wwan0 -j TTL --ttl-set 64
ip6tables -t mangle -A POSTROUTING -o wwan0 -j HL --hl-set 64
ip6tables -t mangle -I PREROUTING -i wwan0 -j HL --hl-set 64
Once connected to the network, keep a close watch on your hotspot data.
If it is still bleeding through, then try changing the 65 to 117, and again reboot.

Re: TTL settings for Verizon Tablet
Any update on this? Was on Verizon prepaid for a long time and was never able to get around their streaming speed cap. Just switched to a post paid unlimited plan, and wondering if I should add a tablet line so I can use the SIM in my WE826.
