Not sure if this is the right section for this question, so if it needs to be moved please do so. But here goes.
I'm honestly not sure what i've done. Here's a quick rundown of what i've attempted to do.
1) I got goldenorb loaded up on the raspberry pi 3b+ and it seems to be working fine.
2) I installed my EM7511 into the USB to m.2 adapter.
3) i went through the tutorial on getting everything setup, and in trying to go from QMI mode to MBIM mode, is where things have gotten awry. So i thought i had it done, because i was actually getting internet, and in playing with the settings, was trying to figure out which band i was on, eTC. For whatever reason, and honestly i can't remember, i tried going back to QMI for something, and that's when things went downhill. I'm not sure if i typed in the wrong commands, or what happened but at this point, when i connect the adapter to the raspberry pi, i can't read any information off the modem. It's like it's not even attached. Can't do any AT commands. So doing some research figure the next logical step was to reflash because maybe the com port for the WWAN wasn't working.
4) went through the steps on getting the com port back up and going, and can't get this to work either. When i run the fdt2 file, all i get is an error and it doesn't have any information under the modem information. When i open up Huawei, all i can see is Sierra Wireless NMEA Port and Sierra Wireless DM Port. There is no WWAN port listed.
At this point i'm completely stumped. I have no idea where to go from here. have i bricked something? is the adapter not working anymore (it's brand new). At this point, i'd like to just do a clean slate install type situation but don't even know where to begin.
if anymore information is needed i'll be more than happy to supply as much as possible.
Thanks

Re: EM7511 + NO WWAN Showing up under com ports
The chances are you used the wrong AT Command (i.e., for the MC7455) for setting the EM7511 into MBIM mode. The EM7511 requires the same AT Command as the EM7565.
This is not uncommon and you may review THIS post for a solution. There are probably others on the forum

Re: EM7511 + NO WWAN Showing up under com ports
Read through that post Jim and the solution seems to have worked. I have gotten it to where i can detect the WWAN port and even got the firmware to write, but the issue i'm seeing now is that i downloaded the generic firmware for the 7511 from sierra's website, but every time i go to load it, it keeps saying that firmware is Verizon and not generic. I even downloaded the AT&T specific firmware, but still the same issues.
Any clue on that one? Thanks

You will generally want to flash the firmware twice using the same firmware.
