Suggestions for RV setup

Post by aep600 »

Hi,

I'm moving into an RV and trying to figure out the optimal setup. I'd like to be able to use wifi if it's available, otherwise LTE. I'm looking at building the M2M NEXG H721 as described in this tutorial: https://wirelessjoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=527. I also have another wifi router.

Is it possible to use the other wifi router as a wifi repeater input to the WAN port of the M2M? Is it possible to program the M2M to prioritize this input if it's available? Is there a better way of achieving this? Thanks for any input.

Hello,
Don't know the answer to your question. But can put you toward a couple on the internet that specializes in RV internet. They have a website and youtube channel dedicated to it. Here are the links.

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/

Hope this helps, different strategy then having a fixed location.

You should be able to connect the WiFi router to the WAN (or LAN) port of the M2M , and set the WAN to primary internet and the modem configured as failover.
