IMEI Repair for MR5200

Post by jcrm2 »

Are there any easy step by step instructions on how to repair the MR5200 imei. The MR5100 is now compatible with DC unlocker but unfortunately the MR5200 is not.

They are the same device basically, both are M5's, so if dc can do 5100 then just select it for your 5200 and it will work the same to soft code your imei

Your absolutely correct. Just received the MR5200 and DC unlocker works as advertise.

Yes if you have an spk file for it, it basically works the same way with the fdt tool.

Yeah, but who on earth has the firmware files on disk? I've done a fair amount of reading, and never heard of anyone that has it. If you come across it, please let us know (if you're willing).

Netgear has become very secretive about their firmware starting with the MR2100.

I have firmware for it, I did not make it, a friend put it together and I was asked by them not to make it public, custom firmware for this one will be difficult until an sdx55 loader can be patched successfully or the broken boot chain can be repaired that is caused by loading a binary file.

No that is not a correct loader for mr5x00
He shows in his readme file that edl was tested on mr5x00 but it is incorrect, I have ask him to remove that statement from the readme file but it remains.

That's not incorrect, but earlier devices were in fact with secure boot disabled. Newer models do have secure boot enabled and thus this loader doesn't work anymore.
