Would be neat to see someone do something like this with a RPi & 4g modem. Looks like they have integration for it.

*Maybe unpopular opinion, but openwrt is such a drag*

Re: RaspAP Router
Check out pfsense. Is debian based. Will do exactly waht you are wanting to do. Just buy an old decommisioned 1u firewall appliance off of ebay and put pfense on it. with a modem adapter,,,fully intergrated.am888 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 8:51 am Would be neat to see someone do something like this with a RPi & 4g modem. Have used pfsense for probably 12 years now. It is kind of overkill for home use,,,but price is right,,,,free!
never used it with a 4g modem,,but it does have built in suppoer for 4g as of a few years ago.
Re: RaspAP Router
I currently run OPNsense at my primary residence. Would be neat, but I shudder at the thought of running it with wlan0! Ha!
I do believe it's based on BSD, however, which almost always lags so far behind on hardware... I can almost guarantee OPNsense wouldn't run a 4g modem, I'm not sure about pfSense though. I guess it's a possibility since some use-case as a failover I'm sure.
