Is there a difference in the quality of service you get between official T-Mobile Home Internet and a typical T-Mobile sim + BYOD?
T-mobile is saying that I'm next in line for Home Internet service but I'm wondering if I should just go with a WG1608D-M + RM502Q-AE.
I already have a t-mobile line that I'm not getting rid of and I'm not sure what actually would be better with official Home Internet.

Re: T-Mobile Modem vs BYOD
Mileage can very
530Mbs/87Mbs with a ping of 25ms for $50 with no cost for hardware is not bad!
This is with a 4G Band-66. Only gets better with a 5G

Re: T-Mobile Modem vs BYOD
To my knowledge YES! IP passthrough still an issue
Also VPN and connecting to 5G also a issue. There is a new firmware coming but have yet get it to update.
Will do some digging and list the Rev of the NEW firmware.

Re: T-Mobile Modem vs BYOD
Got tired of waiting for a node satellite that is compatible with the mesh on the T-Mobile gateway. Got a Netgear Orbi Mesh System and set it up in AP mode. Been working fine.

Re: T-Mobile Modem vs BYOD
I already have synology system and don't want to double nat.... causes issues with my VPNs.
How does 5g cause an issue with VPN?
I'm using Tmobile LTE right now but i'm typically behind a carrier grade nat. Not sure why they haven't just embraced IPv6. Is that the issue?
