WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Hi,
WE1326 modem EM7565. This is a brand new unit firmware flashed to latest, modem is detected.
connect problem
Having problems with my sim being detected. when I issue a at+cpin? it tells me
+ CME error Sim not inserted.
My sim is inserted, I have followed troubleshooting, made sure sim fitted in adapter correctly (filed off nibs flush). made sure it is oriented correctly, cleaned with alcohol. I have even taken board out and inserted Sim to make sure it is in correctly. Still get the same message. I have tried Multiple times now. I know the sim works as it is the one for my phone. I can take it out, put it in my phone and the phone works.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Assuming the SIM Card is laying flat in the adapter, and secured in place with the adhesive strip, it could be a firmware issue, a faulty SIM Card slot, or since you are using the MC7565, the M.2 adapter may be defective or conflicting with the firmware's ability to read the card properly.
What M.2 adapter are you using?
Also note that the SIM Card must be installed in the router when it initially boots (powers on).
The first thing I would try is to reflash the router firmware, and be certain to UNCHECK the box to save settings.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Yes, Sim card is flat. Secured with adhesive strip on flat desk top.
The M2 adapter is the one without a sim from your store.
Sim card always installed with no power to the router.
I will try to reflash the firmware. yes I am certain the first time that save setting box was unchecked.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
That would seem to leave either the Adapter or SIM Card slot on the router. Please submit a RMA for the router and M.2 adapter, and we will test both and replace whichever accordingly.

Remove modem, and send only the router and M.2 adapter. No antennas or accessories. USPS flat rate padded envelope would work well.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
As an update, the Mini PCI-E to M.2 adapter was defective. This seems to be a big issue with these M.2 adapters.
There are a lot of these adapters that are available from various sources that seem to have issues with various applications.

Jim,
I have it running & can see SIM . I cannot connect. My provider is Verizon. I am using my phone SIM. When I use it in the router It will not connect and Verizon sent me a email stating the device is incompatable with my phone plan.
Anything I can try? TTL is set to 65.
Thanks.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
I would first make sure the APN the phone SIM is using is the same APN as programmed in the router.Lbnaz wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 9:05 am Jim,

I would also enter the APN in all CAPS.
You might also try the TTL value of 117 on Verizon. It is not listed in the drop down so you will need to program it manually.
Go to NETWORK > FIREWALL > CUSTOM TTL SETTING > and enable with TTL to 65
Next go to the CUSTOM RULE (top of page) and copy the two lines between #startTTL and #endTTL.
Then go back to the CUSTOM TTL SETTINGS and DISABLE and SAVE & APPLY.
Then go back to the CUSTOM RULES page and paste the two TTL lines you copied. Change the 65 on both lines to 117 and RESTART FIREWALL.
Go to the AT-TERMINAL and enter: AT!RESET

Tried that, still wont connect. This is the message I get from Verizon

Hmm... Looks like they are getting a bit more picky on phone plans.
I assume you are still running the generic firmware on the modem?

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Are all the phones the same. If not, try a SIM Card from a different type of phone. I do not know if it makes a difference but who knows.
I know of several using a tablet plan without issue.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
I was considering adding a tablet to my account just to activate sim and then use that. I need to see from Verizon how that counts to data. Looks Like I have some testing to do.
Thanks for your help so far.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Here is the little bit that I know. I'm running a tablet sim from Verizon, my ttl is set @ 117, it hides the hot spot use! I have a unlimited plan, 2 phones, and 2 tablets, 1 tablet I use as a tablet, the other sim is in my router. So I pay tablet rate, 20@ month, mines military discount. 17.00@ month. Rocky

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Of course I had the tablet up and running on Verizon, it was showing up on Verizon as a tablet and then swapped over to router. Before changing my TTL
from 64,65 to 117, it did show as hotspot use.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Jim,
I have a tablet sim now added to my plan I have put the sim in a tablet and I can connect and access internet.
I have put this Sim into The We1326 and I still cannot connect. The modem is present the Sim is ready and it will report back the sim number when inquired. When I do a gstatus? It will show the cell tower info as well as the signal strength it is in the Fair range. The modem will not connect to the network I have tried both MBIM and QMI mode. the first time I switched modes I typed the wrong command in and lost the modem AT port. I used Putty and restored the functionality. I am on verizon and using a TTL of 117. APN is VZWINTERNET which matches what both my tablet and phone use.
I followed the troubleshooting section but, still cannot connect. I have not tried flashing the modem yet. I am thinking that might be what I have to try next. Any suggestions?

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
It could possibly be a glitch in the firmware.
This may sound a little strange, but are you certain you are in distance of a Verizon tower. Know that your cell phone will connect under the carrier roaming agreement where the modem may not.
Run the
command and then the

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
The 311 480 is the Verizon network.
Also, the network has you deregistered, and the modem is in RCC Idle.
This can happen for a number of reasons to include something with the APN not getting passed through correctly from the router firmware. The command above with return the APN that is programmed into the modem.
It also looks like you have an issue with the MHF4 connector, pigtail or antenna on the AUX port on the modem.
Notice the difference in the PCC RXM = -99 (Main port on modem) and the PCC RxD -107 (AUX port on the modem used for diversity). It is possible the connector is grounding out on the metal portion of the modem, or the connector is not seated good, or it is bad.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
On the command above, we wanted to see if the modem is in Low Power mode. It is not.
Also, lets take a look at the firmware on the modem to make sure it is not reading a firmware mismatch. I have seen this happen occasionally on the EM7565 modems after resetting them to OEM.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
All that looks good.
At this point, other than the AUX issue with the modem port and MHF4 connectors, I am out of suggestions.
I would first fix those where the MAIN and the AUX signals are in line with one another. That is a know variable. While I was at it, I would replace both MHF4 pigtails since they are easy to damage removing and reinstalling.
Next, I would carry the router to a different location on a different tower and test it.
Lastly, and if it were me, I would start over from ground zero. I would reset the modem to OEM status, flash the modem firmware twice, leave the modem in QMI composition, upload a fresh image of GoldenOrb (and make sure the box is UNCHECKED to save settings), configure the APN, power off the router and insert the SIM Card and try it then.
With that said, there is always a risk with restoring the modem to OEM--however small it may be.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Jim,
On the Aux issue. I used a magnifying app in my phone and noticed where the antenna screws on the center pin on the SMA connector was not centered enough so that the antenna could not mate right to it I inserted a pin and used it to center it.
with it centered I am getting a 2db differents between main and Aux now -101, -103. Is this close enough?
of course this did not fix my connect problem. I will try another tower first and then go through the process of reflashing the modem. and starting over.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
That is a lot closer. After you do get it connected, you should replace the pigtail (and antenna if bad) it to avoid unnecessary signal loss.
Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Jim,
As suggested I move to another cell tower location. I got connected but, could get no internet. I got a shot of gstatus & LTEinfo while connected. Because I couldnt get to the internet, I unplug router and plugged back in. when it came up it would not connect anymore and the network derigistered me. Normally putting the Sim back into the tablet will get it back register, but now, even the tablet stays de registed. I am thinking Verizon has locked me out.
here is what I got when connected and also when disconnected. Thoughts? disconnected

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
That is strange. I have heard of deregistered devices taking 24 hours before the network will accept them again.
Did you reset the modem and refresh the build? That would be my next course of action. Actually, it is usually my first course of action with any sign of trouble.

Jim,
I had to get in contact with Verizon to get my tablet sim to be able connect to the internet. I used onlline chat.
They had a service block on my tablet sim. I got tablet back able to access internet. I have down loaded and re flashed the modem 2 times. reflashed router and configured with APN of VZWINTERNET, TTL of 117. when I put the sim in and power up, it connected to Verizon. Modem showed it was connected to Verizon and Verizon De registered me again. It seems to me Verizon is not allowing the modem to access their network. Have you heard of this before? Any suggestions?

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
It is always possible, though in my experience a modem either works or it doesn't (less some firmware or configuration issue). The fact that it is connecting to Verizon network before being unregistered and booted, tells me the modem is doing its job (and perhaps, so is Verizon).
Have you tried a different carrier SIM card and APN?

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
JIm,
I have purchased a ATT tablet plan. The modem does connect up and get internet. Signal sucks at current location but it is working. I guess what this means is the router and modem do indeed work and Verizon is preventing me from using this on their network. I might see what they say if I try to add my modem to my plan using the modems IMED #. I'm guessing they will either say no or try to get me to a limited hotspot plan. Thanks for all the help so far.
it bothers me that some are able to get their tablets to be used on Verizon but, I cannot. I do not understand what the different s is.

Re: WE1326 SIM Card not Detected
Well, at least we know what the issue is. It may be possible to load another new SIM with the plan.
One other thought, maybe the tablet plans vary per tablet. We see this with the prepaid iPad plans--different iPads use different bands and some of the iPad plans are incompatible for use with a modem.
