MOFI5500-5GXeLTE Not finding bands
First off, the Module 1 led blinks for 100 seconds, turns off for 20 seconds and repeats. I cannot find out if that is OK or means there's a problem. Second, after setting it up, I get no signal strength nor any lock on any band. I reset the modem and did the factory default, but no luck. I haven't had any response to my ticket I posted on the 14th so I'm hoping someone here can give me some information. Thanks

I haven't messed with mine much yet.
Typical of MOFI. Im sorry you're not getting help from them, sucks.
We need more info. What service and plan is on the SIM?
Is the SIM active and tested already on another device?
What settings did you setup on the router?

I’m pretty sure you should get single Strength and band information without the SIM installed
Well verify this night with my 4500-7
Use an ethernet cable to connect to the MoFi share some screenshots.

Yes, the MoFi 4500 SiM-7 will show band information and signal strength with no SIM installed.
Not sure if the MoFi 5500 will do the same.
Make sure you use Fire Fox as the browser for the MoFi!!
Chrome and Edge can corrupt data with a MoFi 4500
An awesome feature of a MoFi

@M98349
What have you determined after experimenting? I'm contemplating the 5500 and am dying to know the outcome

So, here it is. The sim card I got was voice, text only. I'm getting a new card that is on a data plan. $20 for 5 gigs a month. I could have just made the Sim I got a data plan, but kept it voice to work in old phone. It might take a week to get here, and I'll continue the adventure then.

Didn't work. Found some settings on the t-mobile website once, but can't find them now. Stay away from Mofi unless you're very well versed in everything router. You'll get no help from the mfg. If anyone gets a 5500 to work on T-mobile, please chime in.

Hey new guy here... I think I know what's wrong.
You need to do a factory reset, but make sure your sim card is NOT installed in the modem. Once the 5500 is fully booted then you can insert the sim card and it should start to work correctly.
It sounds silly but I had the same problem with the 5500. This only matters for the first boot afterwords you can do whatever and it generally works.

This is a known issue for them, that instead of working to correct, they simply charge you for a return label. Dishonest company, well known for false advertising.
