Carrier Aggregate help

Post by bobbcudi »

I have the rm500q-ae modem in a wg1608 router and a Verizon sim. The modem can 3xCA but I only ever CA to 2 bands at a given time. Any way I can CA to one more band to maximize the potential of this modem?

My understanding of CA is that it is COMPLETELY controlled by the tower and there is nothing you can do on the modem side to influence it at all, unless your restricting bands which could restroct CA choices.

Someone please correct me if I have it wrong

You are correct. 5GNR introduces nuances to this, but overall the towers management protocols are in control of activating it.
