So what should I do, two Yagis or a mimo parabolic? Obviously the two Yagis are cheaper. But I can swing the parabolic if I can keep the modem/router to about 200.
A mofi will run you about 300 plus tax and shipping. Make one yourself and you can come closer to that 200 figure.

good choices but one issue:
The router you picked has no outputs for external antennas. You would need to drill holes in the case and add in some sma connector pigtails.

Re: Easiest to set up on GL-750V2
Honestly you are thinking about this wrong, you need to find what carrier works best in your area then buy/tweak equipment to match the carrier not the other way around. Also the GL-750v2 is a router, which modem is installed in it? Or were you planning to tether a phone to the router?

Re: Question about rural setup + upload speeds
An even easier first step.... try putting your router near a window or in different locations inside the house. Then get an extension cord and see what type of signals you get outside.
Also your using band 2 which looks to be only 5mhz. Changng to another available band like 4 or 66 will usually ...

Re: Question about rural setup + upload speeds
I would agree with Dr-Broadband you are likely on a different tower now as bands just dont change like that.
As for commands I have a quectel modem so the commands and command syntax are completely different. So I am afraid i wont be much help in specific commands.

Re: WiFiX-NEXQ6GO and Band Locking
Bandlocking is done via AT commands:
I copied this from a previous past and stored it as I use it on my EP06-A but I believe the commands are the same for all quectel based modems:
Enter the following AT commands, and write down your original band values before changing anything.

Re: Visible wireless hotspot throttling 'fix'?
The above recommended antenna solution should resolve your signal strength issues just fine, I can add nothing to that recommendation, other then you may want to research MIMO for your antenna solution.

Re: Visible Sim Card Activation
if I remember to activate a sim for visible it must be installed into a "vsible approved device" aka one of the devices listed on their certified list. Luskily when I was messing with it I had an old original generation pixel xl which just happens to be on their approved list. i have seen others ...

Re: MIMO Testing
I can confirm that enterimg that command on an ep06-a modem comes back as error, so I would agree its not a valid command on ep06-a
