ZBT WG-1608, goldenorb 2020-06-10 and USB3 throughput issues under load

I am running an EM20-G modem in QMI mode under GoldenOrb 2020-06-10 on a WG-1608 router.
Whenever there is high traffic on the modem (eg. during a speedtest) the router system log gets full of these error:

I have googled around and it appears event 37 means the USB driver ring buffer is full.
This, in turn, means that the modem throughput is reduced because the driver has to wait for the kernel to
consume some of the events from the ring before continuing....

This happens as soon as I have at least about 50 mbit throughput flowing.
Not a stellar performance from a 5G router which is expected to reach much higher speeds...

I am not expert enough to know whether this is a software (kernel) problem or an hardware (router) one.

Is anybody else hitting this issue? I can't believe I'm alone here.

What version of GoldenORB?

For giggles, have you tried running it in MBIM mode? Also did you load the 6/10 firmware via the firmware recovery? I would go ahead and reload the firmware via firmware recovery and then reload it AGAIN two more times via the webUI interface. I always triple load it, at least once via the recovery mode, when there are issues. Sometimes weird crap gets stuck in there from previous firmware installs. I do not know why.

Also, the main guy, Dairyman, over at whirlpool is in the hospital with a major heart condition. He will be tied up for a few weeks at least.

Hi Didney, I have loaded it via chinese bootloader. But everything is working just fine, I don't see a reason to reload the firmware multiple times. This is probably a limitation in either the kernel or the hardware. And yes I tried MBIM mode and the message still appears. Please note that it requires at least 50 mbit throughput to appear.

I don't know why but sometimes odd bits stay over from old images. I've seen it happen. It can cause the STRANGEST issues that aren't explainable, but go away after multiple reflashes. It's noted on this forum and I've seen talk about it on Facebook too.

Which WG1608 version are you using?

Yes I do know about Dairyman, I am also following whirlpool forums.

I mentioned his situation because I think only he and jhend have worked on the WG1608 firmware

Its very similar hardware to the WG3526, and I've never seen this issue. I don't think it's a hardware limitation or kernel. It seems more of a bug somehow. I'll have to put an em20 into one of my routers and try it out.

I have two WG1608. In one of them I have the EM20, in the other there is a RM500Q.
Same version of goldenorb as per this thread's title.

The problem appears on both routers. So it's not the EM20 (how could it be...) and is not a "dirty" installation.
Again, you need at least 50mbit to see the messages.

Anyone know where I can get a copy of the GoldenOrb 2020-06-10. My WG-1608 won't connect anymore to the Quectel RM500Q-GL after an update.. Basically says the same thing a lot of others are saying "modem present ,not connected"

What firmware are you using? I am using a rooter http://www.aturnofthenut.com/upload/ file called WG1608-GO2021-3-16 and it not picking up my modem. I have EM160r-gl. Can you link the firmware as well?
