Whenever there is high traffic on the modem (eg. during a speedtest) the router system log gets full of these error:
Code: Select all
Sun Oct 4 18:01:56 2020 kern.warn kernel: [ 6659.340559] xhci-mtk 1e1c0000.xhci: ERROR unknown event type 37
Sun Oct 4 18:02:01 2020 kern.warn kernel: [ 6664.379070] xhci-mtk 1e1c0000.xhci: ERROR unknown event type 37
Sun Oct 4 18:02:01 2020 kern.warn kernel: [ 6664.481292] xhci-mtk 1e1c0000.xhci: ERROR unknown event type 37
Sun Oct 4 18:02:01 2020 kern.warn kernel: [ 6665.089292] xhci-mtk 1e1c0000.xhci: ERROR unknown event type 37

This, in turn, means that the modem throughput is reduced because the driver has to wait for the kernel to
consume some of the events from the ring before continuing....
This happens as soon as I have at least about 50 mbit throughput flowing.
Not a stellar performance from a 5G router which is expected to reach much higher speeds...
I am not expert enough to know whether this is a software (kernel) problem or an hardware (router) one.
Is anybody else hitting this issue? I can't believe I'm alone here.
Thanks in advance,
Rick
