WG1608 with an EM160GL (total newbie) need help with setup.
Sorry for the total newbie questions! I ordered and have received, and built my WG1608 w/ the Em160GL modem on a Verizon tablet plan and could use some help getting it up and running. I am full time in my RV and am not sure about the steps I need to take to move forward with getting it all up and running. I thought I had it all figured out in my head how it would work. Do I need to have apc or laptop to get into the IP settings? Or am I able to use a tablet? Thanks in advance for any help, advice y'all.

I hope I understand the question--go from one of the lan ports to your laptop, do not use wifi.
Then go into your browser, and put in 192.168.1.1---that should bring you to your log in page.
User name is root password, may or may not be needed---is admin
that should get you in to the router menu
keep us advised, as you will need to set APN to (vzwinternet) without parenthesis, that is under modem tab connection profile.
Ck my post, and others for TTL settings, and DNS setting.

I learned the little I know from ALL these great members--search for TTL settings, DNS, settings

Thank you RockyinNM. I will try this out as soon as I get access to a laptop or pc. We are full time in the rv, and my laptop was packed and is in storage.

Ok I've got a few questions. I got my router hooked up with an Ethernet cable and have done the 192.168.1.1 in my web browser but it doesn't take me to my login page. I was able to get to a log in page of some sort. But trying to set the apn and all, it doesn't show my modem or anything. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I know I'm out of my element here. But I've researched everything trying to get a little more step by step info on it. Youtube and all. But nothing to my specific issue it setup. (Openwrt) sorry y'all for being such a pain.

I'm the last person to ask computer help from--but here goes, and maybe someone with more skills will chime in.
Are you coming out of (1) of the (4) lan ports of the router?
When you bring up a address bar, clear it out, and input 192.168.1.1
that should take you to the log in page-----

Hello,
Recently had issues with the new openwrt stuff not having certificate done. Had to use chrome put in the 192.168.1.1 then will get error. Have to go to advanced in the window of the error and say go anyway.
Also do a control and F5 before hand while in chrome.
Hope maybe this helps.

Yes, I have had this same issue with Goldenorb. It works fine, you just have to manually tell it to ignore the security risk.gscheb wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 1:07 pm Hello,
