Finally got around to ordering a sim from Cricket for my WG3526 build of last Summer. I had not been all that impressed with it when testing with a Red Pocket sim and my Netgear LB1120 was working adequately so there was no hurry to change.
Just got it in yesterday and did my sim install activation all online this morning with my main computer hooked through the LB1120 and my backup computer hooked to the WG3526. I set the WG3526 apn to: ndo and it connected At first it was 3G until I set 4G only in the settings.
The initial results look good on the supplied antennas although not as good as the netgear with the outdoor ones. I have now connected it to the outdoor antennas and was a definite improvement noticeable in upload appreciably. Now I just will monitor this to see how stable it is.
I am running the latest Rooter 2020-12-16 on the router

One thing I notice is that from a power on to usable connection is slow and often does not happen until I bring up browser and go to Rooters web page. Not sure what that is but not a big problem.
I do have a question for users of WG3526 though. How do you get the led status lights to light up for 3g/4g and also the other lan connectors past #1?

The LEDs have always been an odd thing. The goldenorb guys on the whirlpool forums have talked about it. The 4G LEDs are dependent on the modem, as it is a gpio output from the modem. the LAN ones should work, but could be that they just need to be activated. Over my head to be honest.

No I am using the 2020-12-16 firmware. Thanks for the link to the latest. However I think I will stick to what I have now since it is working good.
I do notice that my setup does connect to the 'net by itself if I give it a few minutes more time. It is proving to be very stable once connected. I also notice that the LAN led lights do lite up if the device connected to them is doing a d/l or u/l and is not in idle. Bit different than other routers where the lights are on anytime a powered device is connected.
Although not discernibly different than my LB1120 I likely will switch to the Sierra for my net purposes and discontinue the Netgear.

As an update to this Thread. Cricket after January 19th stop accepting the EM7565 as being a compatible device. You can read about it here: https://www.cricketwireless.com/support ... tdown.html
My old Netgear LB1120 is also no longer usable on Cricket for new activation. I presently am just running the WG3526 router and EM7565 on the Simply Data plan and looks like I have a year to find a replacement device.

Re: WG3526 and Sierra EM7565 on Cricket simply data.
I'm in a simular situation with a router running goldenorb and a EM7565 modem but I'm still looking for a service to use with this setup.
What hasn't worked for me is the Verizon sim from my phone or the sim from a Tmobile hotspot test drive.
I would really like to get a plan that is reasonably priced to replace our home internet but it needs to be stable since I work from home and I don't want something that is going to be throttled.

I see that others have noticed and there is a article over on rvmobileinternet.com about it dated Jan 24th https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/cricke ... m-routers/
