Is the Modem the Boss?

Post by shuless »

Real curious. I have a quectel rm500q-gl. I can bandlock. If Modem chooses band all is well. If I lock the band it drops internet after awhile. Mostly this modem likes band 2 in my area but at times I guess depending on weather or congestion it will choose 4,12,17, or 66. If I choose to lock one of these it connects fine works like a beast and then after 10-15 min just drops Internet. All of these bands besides 2 get me anywhere from 2-5 times more dL as well as upload.

Nice, You have the latest and greatest modem,

Can you share the details of your Config ?
Carrier, antennas. Router. ?
Are you running any 5G new radio bands or just LTE?
What is the firmware outlook for this modem module?
Custom to a wireless carrier?

AT+QNWPREFCFG="ue_usage_setting"?
