EM12G in ZBT-1608 : GoldenOrb_2021-08-15 ( OpenWrt 21.02.0-rc3 )
Hi All,
I've had good success for the last year with an EM12G on a Verizon post paid plan. Can a modem just "ninja brick" where it reports correct parameters, but is never going to work?
I hope I'm missing something obvious. I try to be through and scientific, but I'm far from a subject expert ...

I have followed your USB teather guide with an old phone. I've been up and running with that. I actually just updated the FW this past weekend.

I've got the RouterOS to see my modem and that is about it. I can send AT commands and get responses. It can see my sim and IMEI of my modem. It even will scan and tell me that there is a Verizon tower near me, just nothing past that.

You are going to want a m.2 interface modem for that wg1608, like an Em06 or better.
I've got an ep06-a useless next to my wg1608, currently tethering a phone to it to connect a WAN.

So it occurred to me that not having a cap on Netflix means that it thinks I'm using hotspot data. Since mobile data is capped at 5Mbps or so. No idea if this is correct.
I set it back down to 65 across the board. Still can't get the dang usb drivers to work in Rooter though.

Just changed my TTL to 66 (from 65) although I'm still not able to use the USB hotspot (wireless hotspot works), I can now test out at unthrottled speeds on fast.com so that's something.

gscheb: I did change the custom firewall settings for usb0 as you indicated. However, I tried both 65 and 117 (not simultaneously). I don't know which is correct, over on FB, someone mentioned that anything under 65 is proper.
