Hi all, newbie here.
Trying to connect to a Verizon tower. My Cell gets 50/3Mbps in hotspot mode, whish is plenty speed for my needs.
I just recieved my WG1608v2 the other day, but was disappointed to see only a m2 header on the board. It seems the boards with both m2 and mPCI-e were just developer samples. Or you can pick or the other.
I'm looking at 3 choices. (If more please make a suggestion)
1. Replace my CAT6 EP06-A with a newer M2 form factor. (Price is a huge factor, rather invest in better antennae, than a new modem card)
2. Source an adapter. (Which one?)
3. Solder a mpci-e header onto the board (it has the solder pads for mPCI-e) like this one.

I'm not scared of SM solder, I've done hand assembly of surface mount professionally. I'm just not sure if the board will auto detect the mPCI-e card when it came with the m2 header... "probably would work"?
I'm waiting to see what the The Wireless Haven store has this afternoon before I do anything.
Appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Re: ZBT WG1608v2 using an older mini PCI-e modem (EP06-A)
Welp I failed big time.
I refused to use a magnifying glass and then when I soldered some pins together, wick to get the pins unstuck I pulled the pad right off the board.
Kinda pissed at myself, but if you never try you never know.
I'm assuming that it should auto detect the modem and power the card up when it's plugged in, this is not the case for me at the moment.

Before you spend a ton of time on this puppy, you know that you will need to fix the IMEI on this modem for verizon to let/keep you on the network, right? If you don't want to go through the fix process you're better off getting a different modem...

I do understand that that will be necessary, but I don't know how yet.
Would you advise me where to look for the info?
