Help with IMEI change on Quectel RM520N-GL (ZBT Z8102AX-T router)

Post by Moudby »

Hello everyone,
I am using a ZBT Z8102AX-T router with a Quectel RM520N-GL 5G module.
Here in my country (Orange Guinea, West Africa), my unlimited SIM card only works when the IMEI is recognized as an official “box/routers IMEI”. Before it worked fine, but recently Orange started restricting it.
So now, my SIM card does not connect inside the router, but it works in the original Orange Box.
👉 My question:
How can I change the IMEI of my RM520N-GL to match my ISP box?
Is it possible to do this using AT commands (ttyUSB2) or do I need to use QPST/QFIL (Qualcomm tool in EDL mode)?
Has anyone here successfully changed the IMEI on the RM520N-GL with OpenWrt / ROOter firmware?
I already have access to the module details:
Module: Quectel RM520N-GL
Current IMEI visible
Router firmware: stock ZBT, but I can flash OpenWrt if needed
Any step-by-step guidance or confirmation from people who did it would be highly appreciated 🙏
Thanks in advance!

Ensure legality in your country first, but it is an AT command. Look up "AT+EGMR" you will find what you need.
