How do i prevent firmware update on MR6150/MR6400/MR6550 (non AT&T) models?
I have access to root. Is there a known server address i can block using hosts file?

There are lots of different ways to do this
here is the update address
or in the nv set WU_AUTOCHECK to 0
It wont check for updates unless you tell it to
or
change WU_UPDATEURL to anything else
or
change WU_AUTH to anything else
and it wont be able to pass the login to get the update
keep in mind there is a factory backup, actually there are more than one backup that can restore these items.
