Help troubleshooting connnection issue - tmobile

Post by radec »

Hi All,
I've been using a WE826-T running GoldenOrb with an EM06-A on T-mobile(MobileCitizen) since 2020 with essentially zero issues. It's super rock solid, so I mostly leave it alone.

Recently webpages have stopped loading intermittently or services disconnect (discord/xmpp, podcasts, ect). Usually a refresh fixes it, sometimes you have to hit refresh a couple times. It's very intermentant so its difficult to diagnose, sometimes everything works for a while and then suddenly I have to hit refresh constantly.

Connecting to a VPN fixes the problem, VPN stays connected and zero issues while using the VPN.

I've messed around with DNS, that doesn't seem to be the issue.

I tried IPv4, IPv6 and IPv4/IPv6 on the modem profile, they all do it.

I don't see anything odd under Modem > Debugging information. Not that I know what to look for, but nothing sticks out.

I updated GoldenOrb to GoldenOrb_2022-10-20 ( OpenWrt 19.07.6 ). No difference.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Might need a modem firmware update. Tmobile has changed a lot in the last year.

Ok thanks! I'll give that a whirl.

Also thanks mods for putting my post in the correct spot, I didn't know what the issue was so I didn't know where to put it.
