WE-826, EM7455 will only connect to 3G with AT&T sim

Post by patman2 »

I’ve been using a WE826-T2 plus an EM7455 modem with an AT&T plan for over 7 months with no problem. I’m setting up a friend with a similar setup and have run into a problem that has me stumped. When I use his AT&T sim in either device it will only connect to 3G and if I lock bands to “09” LTE only the modem cycles between no signal connection and a signal connection with
“EMM state: Deregistered Attach Needed”.

However, if I use my AT&T sim, both devices will connect to LTE.

I attached a few gstatus' and a partial debug log.

I’ve tried everything I can think of. I would love to hear any suggestions.

thanks

I had a similar situation after building my WG3526 router/modem using a Red Pocket (AT&T carrier) Data only sim. In order to have LTE hookup I had to contact Red Pocket and they had to get AT&T to change how they viewed the sim. The Red Pocket customer service rep had told me that they were experiencing this on their Data only sims with AT&T.

If your AT&T plan is supposed to be a Data LTE plan, and it is not one of these phone plan sims transferred to your router, you might be able to contact AT&T and get in corrected.
