Hi folks,
My EM12 has been working fine on AT&T (ipad) and then T-mobile. I unfortunately decided to try Verizon. After trying everything I could find Wireless Joint, I decided to go back to AT&T.
However, I cannot get the AT&T or even my T-mobile sim cards to work.
The problem appears to be that the modem. The CGDCONT 4 & 5 appear to be stuck on vzapp and vzwemergency.
The folks on the Facebook Wireless Joint recommended running
AT+CGDCONT=2
AT+CGDCONT=3
AT+CGDCONT=4
AT+CGDCONT=5
AT+CGDCONT=16
All of these worked but AT+CGDCONT=3. It returns an error.
It did clear the vzwapp and vzwemergency, however, I am still unable to connect .
Is it because CGDCONT 3 is still on SOS
Is there something wrong with the EM12-g
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Re: EM12-G Stuck on Verizon; won't switch to other carriers.
Looks like your modem's NVM doesn't get refreshed for some reason during flashing, but that's ok, let's take it one step at a time. Even so, the router usually looks at APN slot#1, while the Verizon APN's are on slots# 2-5.
First flash the modem with the latest firmware.
Next, with the sim card removed send the following AT commands from the router's menu Modem > Miscellaneous > AT-Command Terminal.
Copy and paste each command one at a time, and make sure you get an "OK" response after each command:
Wait a minute, restart the router, then enter these commands:
Turn off the router, insert your ATT or Tmobile sim card, set the proper APN/TTL, wait a few minutes then go to modem status and copy and paste all that info here. Do not do anything else, let's see the signal and connection status.
First flash the modem with the latest firmware.
Next, with the sim card removed send the following AT commands from the router's menu Modem > Miscellaneous > AT-Command Terminal.
Copy and paste each command one at a time, and make sure you get an "OK" response after each command:
Code: Select all
AT+QPRTPARA=3
Code: Select all
AT+QCFG="nwscanmode",3,1
AT+QCFG="roamservice",1,1
