FG2000 questions issues
FG2000 questions issues
Bought one slightly used on fleec bay. Maybe ?
US Cellular unit FG2000 - 3
Originally on Verizon. After numerous hours. US Cellular chat. Finally. Can connect to 4Glte.
US C, Tech stated. In order for it to be stable on 5G. Needs an update ! Sure it connects Solid Blue...but no Internet access
Other issues. Lan Wan ports greyed out on US C Home page.
" " Pushing the reset button does nothing
Doing it from the settings page. Unit resets. Finally showed internet access on Laptop 4GLTE.
Apparently. I can save a Config. File. Is it possible to simply install a copy of the config file from another Unit on US Cellular
into my unit that functions properly on 5G ? Lan wan ports functioning.
The last update is NONE

Re: FG2000 questions issues
yes and the government tells you that a hammer cost 500 bucks when they buy one, Don't believe everything you hear.
if you have the Qualcomm variant of the fg2000 this will work on it, if you have the IPQ one don't load it, if you do and it does load you can/will have probs.
I have not seen the IPQ-chipped variant yet but I am pretty sure any backup from that device can also be loaded to others of the same makeup.
There are not too many of the IPQ-chipped devices out there, but you should still check it to be sure.
edit: they are the same device it just has 2 boards one qc and one ipq

Re: FG2000 questions issues
I have a build of the us cellular firm that I made from a working device and can rebrand it but it is not needed to change bands, I hear Verizon is getting this model and that firm will likely be much more cross-carrier friendly but your bigger challenge will be getting the ports enabled so some work can actually be done on it.

Re: FG2000 questions issues
thanks for your response rich ive seen some of your posts on other forums also apways good stuff i actually learn things from them the problem is here that US Cellular stock firmware locks several of the bands that tmobile uses i am running this fg2000 under my tmobile home internet account but with this unit having stock US Cellular firmware on it signal strength upload download speeds just everything is way below what this unit is capable of I am in a 5g ultimate coverage area and my speeds are under 5mbs for downloads and in kbs on uploads I was also trying to findout where to tap in to the internal antennas to try hooking up some external mimo antennas i know this unit has the ts9 hook up for external antennas but it only supports certain bands that tmobile does not use so they are of coarse useless to me

Re: FG2000 questions issues
And yes Rich i do understand that the firmware does not need to be rebranded I just need a modded US Cellular firmware that has all the bands unlocked and i still would like to tap into the internal antenna hook ups to try hooking up some external mimo antennas to see what results i get i have had this unit apart and cut holes in the outer shell to have access to the 3.0 usb port and the phone plug in port if inseego ever enables it

Re: FG2000 questions issues
There is a upgrade package they want to sell you for it that enables the phone port, second sim slot if your device has one and some other bands and features, it cost 200 bucks, and is imo a rip off, they charge peeps 1500 for these then say here pay me 200 more to make it work as it was built to....as soon as I get one with this package on it I will reverse engineer it and make a build from it.
I can enable all bands on it but still the carrier ag is blocked on it, I got CA working for 2 band CA on a friends who is out of the country and his speed increased but still only to about 160, far less than this device is capable of, I have not had time to work further on it, like I said before it will be much easier to make a build from the verizon or the fg2000e device and load it to this one.

Re: FG2000 questions issues
I received an fg2000 today and running into issues. I put my sim card from my fx2000 from Tmobile into my FG2000 and it just sits there and blinks red after a few min of solid red. I was trying to find out if the FG2000 supports bands B2 and n41 since those are the bands I'm connected to on the FX2000. I would appretait any assistance.

Re: FG2000 questions issues
Do you have firmware that makes it usable for T-Mobile.? We run a nonprofit helping people that comes out of prison. We don't receive donations and we wanted to use this on our TMobile business account. Please let me know if you can help.

Re: FG2000 questions issues
Yes, that can be done, but, this model is more work than any of the others, and is slower than the others, you really would be better off getting a m2000 and having it flashed, those m2000's after flashing and dethrottle run for most people at 700mbps or higher, a lot of peeps see closer to a gig of speed out of them compared to the fg at maybe 200mbps. you can pick up a m2000 for like 30 bucks these days
Re: FG2000 questions issues
I just picked up a refurb FG2000. Used to be with USCellular, but I'm putting in a Verizon. connects via LTE with the 5G APN, but doesn't lock onto 5G even though it is avail.
Below is the current firmware:
IPQ-SDX55MOR-2.41-2.422-1.44-182-182 07/30/2021 08:37:55
Does anyone have the Verizon firmware I can put on it?
Thanks!

Re: FG2000 questions issues
Someone is going to have to donate a verizon variant first, I have not even seen one of them yet, right now they are just a rumor, the fg2000e might do the job but not sure I have not seen that one yet either
Re: FG2000 questions issues
Same here, only LTE working, no 5G connection at all. even setting to 5G SA doesn't help. I'm in India where N28 and N78 SA band available.not2loud wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 6:50 pm I just picked up a refurb FG2000. Re: FG2000 questions issues
Ok so these have been unlocked, flashed and dethrottled now the end result is very good, they have 5g locked out unless you use uscellular, and it is so dumbed down its like using the first gen lte, remember when all we had was 3g then gen 1 lte came out and we went from 3mbps to like 8 or 10 and we thought it was so great, this is like that, but after all the patching and such now these are free they can run at gig speeds, mine here in the woods runs around 700mbps or so now as you can see in the picture.
this is with patched modem, 5g enabled and 5CA working

Re: FG2000 questions issues
Looks like that test you were running in the video was on Tmobile (?). I get close to 1,000 Mbps / 20ms pings a mile away from a Tmobile tower with my iPhone 13 tethered to a router as a modem.Rich Hathaway wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 8:15 am Ok so these have been unlocked, flashed and dethrottled now the end result is very good, they have 5g locked out unless you use uscellular, and it is so dumbed down its like using the first gen lte, remember when all we had was 3g then gen 1 lte came out and we went from 3mbps to like 8 or 10 and we thought it was so great, this is like that, but after all the patching and such now these are free they can run at gig speeds, mine here in the woods runs around 700mbps or so now as you can see in the picture.

Re: FG2000 questions issues
@ BillA
1000, That's good speed right there, yes its tmobile in the vid, these FG's are horribly throttled even when unlocked, by that I mean speeds like 50mb down.
so seeing them now after de-throttle at 600 or so is good, my iphone gets about 650 here on tmobile which is pretty good because I am in the middle of the woods in Kansas, here tmo is far better than the other big 2.
IOS is such a straight to the point type of operating system imo it is hard to compete with, especially os2 they have on these devices that is so dumbed down and having throttle built in in so many places now they rob us of so much of our speed its aggrivating

Re: FG2000 questions issues
I've seen speed burst of up to 2,000Mbps on Verizon's mmWave. But that requires a direct line of sight a few hundred meters away from those small square mmWave antennas they installed on light poles in my area.Rich Hathaway wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 7:07 pm @ BillA

The OS2 name in the FG2000 reminds me of the IBM's old OS/2. Well, it works... sort of. lol

Re: FG2000 questions issues
These have 2 boards, the bigger board has a openwrt build and the smaller, what I call the qualcomm board has the
OS2 build on it. I hope they do not reproduce that in other devices, it is a real hassell
