Cudy 5G P5- beware X55 modem is shipping not X62

Post by cloudgenki »

Beware that if you order a Cudy 5G P5 router at the moment you may receive an inferior X55 modem and not the X62 that is advertised.

I've attached the advertisment, noting an X62.

Here's the response from Cudy support.

Sorry for the late reply. The P5 had changed the module in 2023 and at the beginning, the P5 use X55 module and in Amazon stock, there is still some X55.
And the P5 we doesn't tested with the PoE, so it doesn't suggest you to power with it, thanks!
Best regards,

Lol, is that actually what they wrote
"we doesn't tested with the PoE"
that really makes their support sound uneducated.
I am a 7th grade dropout and I doesn't even speak like that

I have one from Amazon. The Amazon add does say it is an X62. How do I verify which modem is installed in the unit?

I believe if you Google it, there is an AT command that you can enter that will tell you which modem you have.
