Think that is wrong if you are talking about T-Mobile home internet. Look in your gateway IP address. It is shown in there. If you move it identity has to match

you mean to use fbb.home ? I think it can work with the fast one also.
If you mean the ttl, I do not have this device to check it but since it is a device meant to share data
I would think ttl would not matter so any value would prob work.

Hello all,

Has anyone recently moved the sim in there T-Mobile Home Internet? Haven't done it in awhile and not sure if there is more to it now? Can someone please put in the requirements to get it to work?

Thanks

I just would like to try my Quectel RM502-Q modem and see if it may get better results

OK.

Have had the nokia trash can for a long time. Have always used it. Last couple month my service has gotten so flaky and bad. Be good for awhile then go to hell again. Don't know what the issue is.

I also have had to modify the THMI unit for outside antennas. Not crazy about this but that's the only way I can get results from anything.

Have 4 outside antennas on mine too, worked great for a long time but now it just don't anymore. Sometimes it is even connecting to band 12 as the primary and everything else. Getting really bad these last few months.
Either the network from the tower is the issue or something is up with the modem unit itself. Very curious if having different modem solves these issues.

I can't really complain since TMHI has done well and continues to do well and has been reliable. Don't know if or when I may try this. Just wanted to know what I needed to do.
Still have TMHI, 100GB/$55 ATT Hotspot Plan, 2 ATT tablet plans, and also Starlink that I swap around. At $255/month for all, glad something always works

My TMHI had been a lifesaver until here the last few months. Starting to wonder if the unit is going bad. Don't know how long they last.

After looking inside, they seem to be very cheaply made.

Hello,
Last night moved my SIM to a quectel EM12. This is a lesser device than the Nokia trash can thing far as abilities. Use it for a few days and see if can get better consistency out of it. Will let you know. Need to do something the Nokia is so undependable anymore.

Since I moved SIM to quectel EM12 had been allot more consistent after blocking bands 4 and 66. So it seems the Nokia gateway from T-Mobile was cuasing issues. Not sure why it started doing that. Worked good for a long time.
The Nokia was even having hard time playing live TV.

Hello all,
Is there anyone out there that has some experience trying T-Mobile home internet SIM in different device? Very interested in consistent good upload speeds.
Thanks

I flashed 3 devices for use with sims out of the tmhi remotely in the last week, and while I did not note the ul speeds they told me they got, I can say it was much slower than any sim on the tab plan for tmobile and when I say much slower the comparison is like this.
most tab plan sims after flashing and dethrottling with good signal in the host device will pull around 600mbps dl speed or more.
The tmhi sim in the same device flashed and dethrottled will be more like 120mbps dl speed
There is a big difference, and either I have not figured out a correct way to dethrottle for these sims or the plans are throttled at tmobiles switch in which case there is nothing can be done to speed it up more.

@ gscheb what are your speeds like?

I moved the TMHI sim to a RM502Q-AE modem with Mikrotic RB750Gr3 router combo to see how it performed. So far good. No faster than the ARC unit but time will tell. The only problem is I can't access the router. It's running Rooter and worked at first, but not now.

Ok,
Have worked on my outside antennas and made some tweaks now.
My tower was updated few months ago with N41 and I also think band 66 wasn't there before.
Have parabolic mimo high gain high frequency antenna. Also pair of log periodic wide band antennas.
The parabolic now going to L3 & L4. The wide band to L1& L2.
With this now getting N41 wasn't before this was getting N71 and my primary LTE band was all over the place.
This is my current status for bands 2 & N41.

Here are some speed tests work these new signal stats.
Screenshot_20230212-001442~2.png
It is performing allot better now.

Does it matter how the antennas are connected? Also, do you think a RM520 modem would perform better than the RM502?

On that set up before the parabolic antenna was the mimo 1 and log periodic antennas was mimo 2.
See this post what Mimo 1 and 2 is about.

In theory RM520 should be faster. But it is my opinion that the tower your connecting to matters. A modem might offer better performance. But will be limited to your towers abilities. If that makes sense too you.

I have 2x2 panels from WH. One straight up and one at 45 degrees. Still not sure which lead goes to which antenna. I have moved them around a few times but didn't see any noticeable difference.
On another note, TMHI speeds are 15-20 Down in the early morning. At night and early evening 220-240 Down is common. Seems just the opposite in my experience

Try one mimo flat panel set to L2 and L4.
Then the other to L1 and L3.
With your big speed difference. Check and see if on same bands

The gateway is always on B2 or B66 LTE and n41 5G.
The speed difference seems to have leveled out to 200+ all the time.
Will try those antenna connections

Do you have mixed match antennas like I do? Or are they all the same?
I have tested this modem. It didn't need to have the antenna sets polarized like the link above.
