Re: Confusion
Went ahead and ordered the NEXR5GO with the Quectel EP06-A from The Wireless Haven . Maybe not the latest and greatest, but it seems to be a pretty common choice.

Re: NEXR5GO Router and EP06-A Modem
I'm in!!! The modem never showed up after disappearing but after 10 minutes I cycled the power on the router anyway and it all came up. Is 70% Signal strength good or poor? What else should I look at?
Thanks guys, I could never have done it without your help!!!
I am sure there will be more questions ...

Re: Access Point for NEXR5GO
After connecting the routers, how do I log in to the TPLink?
Never mind. I was typing the wrong address. I will have to test this weekend.

Re: Trail Camera Antenna
The Wilson directional antenna was only marginably better, but did show a little improvement. The problem is getting bluetooth to connect. After getting a connection, the Wifi works OK. Got an antenna coming from The Wireless Haven on the way to try.

Archer A7 Router and EM7455
I am sure y'all are about sick and tired of me by now but I want to try another project. I have a TPLink Archer A7 router, an EM 7455 from a buddy and got a box thingie that holds the Modem and Sim and converts to USB from Amazon. I downloaded the Golden Orb files to flash the router. May try ATT ...

Re: NEXR5GO Router and EP06-A Modem
I really don't know what I did but it is SO much better. Took all this crap to work, along with my laptop. Signal strength is 95 to 100 percent there. Tried to get to Chinese letters with no luck. The Wireless Haven says no Chinese stuff on the newer routers. Never was able to flash firmware but I ...

Re: Archer A7 Router and EM7455
After an extended phone conversation with AT&T somewhere in this world and testing what she could, she decided that there was something wrong with my Sim card and also some setting on this router that she couldn't diagnose. So After getting a replacement Sim from AT&T yesterday, I went ahead and put ...

Re: NEXR5GO Router and EP06-A Modem
Very happy with AT&T so far. Even at peak hours 35-50Dn and 15-20Up CSQ 24-29 SINR 8-16 Stays on a tower that is probably not in heavy use.
Visible was great early AM but peak sucked.
Thanks to you guys for getting me going.

I don't plan on trying this, was just curious how it would work. Sounds like a bad idea.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: NEXR5GO Router and EP06-A Modem
Even that is still better than putting up with Hughesnet continuous 700-900 latency.Didneywhorl wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 11:51 am Sounds like good ole ATT at it again. Not uncommon of an issue in the last few years. Annoying. Verizon has done it too. I've not heard of tmo/Sprint doing it though.

Well, none of this worked so the A7 went into the trash. Bought another A7 to try this again.

Re: NEXR5GO Router and EP06-A Modem
oh, sorry. :)
APN - fast.t-mobile.com
TTL for IPV4 AND HL for IPV6 of 65 usually works.
Turn off the modem APN autoload feature:
AT+QMBNCFG="AutoSel",0
and
AT+QMBNCFG="Deactivate"
Usually all I do.
May also want to make sure the SIM detect is right and it reads your SIM card ICCID number ...

Re: T-Mobile as Backup
I decided for now I will use T-Mobile 50GB for $50 plan as a backup to my AT&T 100GB for $55 primary plan. Both are month to month so I can change either at any time. If T-Mobile Home Internet comes available I may go that way.

Re: 4 x 4 Antenna question
Still playing with 2x2 antennas. Paired a Wilson Yagi with a The Wireless Haven Yagi Radome. Moved the mast up and over to get farther away from trees. Holy crap, with just a quickie aim job speeds of 70dn and 12up. Best ever for T-Mobile. May even be better when my other The Wireless Haven antenna ...

Re: NEXR5GO Firmware
Is there a new firmware for the NEXR5GO router. It now has GoldenOrb 2021-03-09. I really have never been thrilled with the response on that router and was wondering if there is a firmware upgrade. I didn't see anything at Of Modems and Men.
Define "response on that router"

Re: Archer A7 Router and EM7455
I have been using the archer A7 Router with Quectel EM160R-GL modem in a USB3 enclosure and 2-2x2 antennas from Wireless Haven with ATT tablet plan for well over a month now. It lost connection one time several weeks ago and I had to restart it. Been what I would call a rock solid setup.

Thanks, this LTE crap is definitely a money pit. Every little lesson costs me $$$$ and of course it is always my fault for not reading and understanding everything. Like they say "A bought lesson is better than a taught lesson"

Re: Cable Extension Question
All good advice. I ended up chasing everything. Now I have Starlink, T-Mob Home Internet (With outside 4x4 antenna hacks), 2 ATT tablet plans, and an ATT hotspot plan.
Sure, it's redundant but what the heck. There is always something that works!!
