- Which of the 4 connectors on the modem should I use?
Do I need to do anything within Windows to specify that the modem is only connected to 2 ports?

5G modem with laptop 2 antennas
Hi I bought a Dell DW5930e 5G WWAN modem which has 4 connectors. My laptop is WWAN ready and had a 4G card prior.

If it matches other modems of similar design its likely that the outer two connectors are your primary pair, but without a hardware design manual, it's likely impossible to know for sure what is intended.

The DW5930e is a variant of the T99W175. Here is a snippet of the antenna interface:

Best option would be to connect all 4 but if you only have something like 2 cables available I would research the specific carrier that you plan to use and find out what specific bands they use for 4G/5G signal and connect to the appropriate ports as identified above. It does look like ports 0 and 2 are the main ports for both tx/rx as ports 1 and 3 show only rx and gps.
I don't think anything is needed as far as telling windows that only certain ports are connected. I would assume the modem would handle the rf front end internally when powered up by checking what signals are available on each port.

I purchased a Dell Outlet laptop... which I thought had LTE.
It did not... what antenna did you end up buying?
