Hi all:
I've attached an MR1100 to my Windows PC (only via Ethernet), and an MR2100 (via USB as well). I'm wondering what are the listings in Device Manager for?
Netgear DM Port VSP
Netgear NMEA Port VSP
Netgear WWAN Modem VSP
Can someon enlighten me about this?
What are these Netgear Port Listings in Device Manager for?

Re: What are these Netgear Port Listings in Device Manager for?
Why have both plugged in at one time?
VSP=Virtual Serial Port which is for the DM port 192.168.1.1:5510 unless you have changed it but you cannot connect to both at one time unless you have enabled the real (physical)ports on them
if you have the real ports enabled the hdwr id is as follows for the M1
diag
USB\VID_0846&PID_68E2&REV_0318&MI_02
USB\VID_0846&PID_68E2&MI_02
rndis
USB\VID_0846&PID_68E2&REV_0318&MI_00
USB\VID_0846&PID_68E2&MI_00
modem
USB\VID_0846&PID_68E2&REV_0318&MI_03
USB\VID_0846&PID_68E2&MI_03
usb composite device
USB\VID_0846&PID_68E2&REV_0318
USB\VID_0846&PID_68E2
I do not have the M2 and have never had that one so I cant help with hdwr id for it sorry.

Sure, why not? Maybe you can tell me what DM stands for instead of leaving me guessing?VSP=Virtual Serial Port which is for the DM port

It can mean alot of things depending on what device you are refering it to.
in this case it is the diagnostic monitor port, the one you use to send "DM" commands to.
in other devices it can mean digital media port or download mode port or any of several other tags.
