Ethernet offloading vs. tethering

Hi everyone:

I'm a bit confused by Netgear's (maybe unusual) use of terminology. They talk about "Ethernet offloading" and "Ethernet tethering" and I've never heard of thsee terms until now.

What feature do I want in an mr1100/5x/6x etc. for the hotspot to act in bridge mode/IP passthrough mode so the Netgear simply bridges the connection to my normal Asus LAN router? I assume that's what Netgear calls "Ethernet tethering"?

I have an AT&T branded mr1100-1A1NAS here. I don't see that model in the matrix/table that is posted around here. Does that model support Ethernet tethering? Also, shouldn't that model be included in the matrix?

IP Pass-through = offloading and tethering = it tethers via a physical cable to share its data with another device.

Thanks. So...if I just wanted to use my AT&T mr1100-2a1nas as a bridge, I should just enable Ethernet offloading and enable the IP pass-through checkbox as well and that's it?
