Modem and Cell router

Post by ergeoverkill »

Hello, I have a question regarding compatibility of the, WG3526-P 4G LTE WiFi PoE Router Dual Band, and modem card,
Quectel EM160R-GL CAT16 M.2.
I recently picked up the modem and was looking to pair it with the aforementioned sim router. I did not see where either were mentioned together for use.
Any yea or nay would be appreciated before I pull the trigger on the router while they are in stock here.

edit, I forgot to mention this will be used for AT&T service if that makes any difference?

Thanks

I love using the WG3526-P router with both the EM160 and RM5xx series modems. They definitely work in the WG3526-P

Thanks for the reply Didneywhorl, I just set this combo up ( NEXP1GO formerly known as WG3526P with EM160R-GL) yesterday.
All seemed well and good, but after about an hour or so I loose data. I still have connection to the router VIA hard line.
A power cycle will bring full data right back but it will drop data again within an hour.
This is all hard line, I have disabled the WIFI radios.
I searched a bit and found some others using beta firmware with similar problems, but also noticed you said they pair well together and figured I would ping you with my problem.
Any help is appreciated, unfortunately I wont be able to supply any logs until late tonight.

Thanks

Which service and plan?

Typically, though not always, when the data stops moving even with a connection, it may be the carrier making the connection "stale". The reconnect fixing it is a tell tale.

Do you have errors in the logs now?

Also, I'm not 100% clear, are you using the BETA firmware image on the 160?

I am on AT&T elite unlimited plan, my previous setup, WE826GO with Sierra wireless MC7455 has worked flawlessly for over a year now and is still working perfect at my GF house, if that helps at all?

The problem surfaced late last night just after my setting everything up, I did not have a chance to look at the error log.
I am running gloden orb pre-installed when I ordered it.

OH, and I sourced the EM160R separately, not a package deal from here.

Do you have the A07 beta firmware on the modem?

Its an AT command, for Quectel modems:

Code: Select all

AT+QGMR
or

Code: Select all

AT+QGMR?
Can't remember which at the moment.
