I have a 3526p/EM20--running latest firmware. I have it in MBIM mode, and it seems to run OK--Is there an advantage to running in QMI mode--what are the plus-minus to the (2) different modes??
many thanks, Rocky
3526p/EM20 MBIM or QMI mode??

Re: 3526p/EM20 MBIM or QMI mode??
The old, 2020 and older, WG3526 firmware ran the modems in MBIM with high ping but fast speeds. The latest firmware from late 2020 to today fixed the ping issue.
Many carriers I've seen (Visible, Tmo) I couldn't even get to work with the modem in QMI. No idea why, it shouldn't really matter, but it did.
Also note that the new Sierra modems (5G) don't even ship with firmware that has QMI as an option.
