Need help with Em20-g

Post by punkguy00017 »

I have updated the firmware to 8 also downgraded the firmware to 6. Every time I run the modem in a we826 without the simcard inserted it recognized the modem. If I insert a simcard and reboot router, it cant open usb2. I have modem set to mbim.

That's a new one to me. I've never had to do that.

Does the modem show up in the debug screen? (towards the bottom, not the commands screen)

You may have a bad SIM, or adapter, that is shorting out the SIM pins, which shorts can short out the modem. Are you using the adapters SIM slot or the routers SIM slot? Both can be used, you may try another adapter, or the other slot.

So it's showing up in the network status page as well?

Where is it saying it can't connect to ttyUSB2?

Lol. I agree but I'm just using it for testing purposes since I have a 1608 with an em20-g and wanting to put this other 20g in a wg3526 that is currently running an ec 25

Recently on a MC7455 it wouldn't read the Sim card. Literally just removed sim card and put it back in and it started working.

Dude, you got a steal!

Those aren't made anymore, and they are a beast. Last ones I sold for over $300 each.

Update after almost a year of using still working flawless only thing I have noticed is if I unplug it and then reconnect it it can't detect the modem. If I wait roughly 20 mins and then plug it in it detects the modem and connects no issues any of the gurus here know why it does this?

Super odd. No telling. They didn't seem to build them to be very durable. Might be an chip oddity that does that.
