Budget replacement for Linkzone 2 on Calyx
Recent Calyx member and am looking for a budget replacement for the LZ2. I would like to have external antenna ports and possibly ethernet.
I am currently getting around 3 bars and 5-12 mbps down/up.
Thanks

NEXQ6GO-M with Quectel EM06A
Router: https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/routers/lte-rou ... fi-router/
Modem: https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/modems/quectel- ... m-2-modem/
Adapter for modem to router is included with the router now.
That's it.
If you want more modem, it'll cost a few more dollars to get 3xCA: https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/modems/quectel- ... 2-modem-2/
Otherwise same router.
Pop in your SIM card, set the APNs and run commands as follows:
then
then
then
then
then finally to hard reboot the modem:
Watch it connect to interwebz!

How do you repair IMEI on those modems?
Do you need to buy with the "Upgrade Modem to latest Generic Firmware" option, or is there a tutorial on that?
Is there a way to just put a modem into an enclosure so you can tether it over USB to a reasonable wifi router like an ASUS?
Thanks!

I have been using my Calyx SIM card in a WE826 with a MC7455 and didn't need to do anything besides setting the APN to r.ispsn. I connect to Sprint through a T-Mobile tower.

IMEI change not needed for Calyx Hotspot plans. At least not yet.
IMEI changes aren't discussed here, but it can easily be done on Quectel Modems. The info is out there.
You can certainly upgrade it yourself. There are tutorials on this forum, should be under the Modems / tutorials sub forum.
You can tether the modem to a router with drivers for the modem. If your ASUS supports the modems, you can do that. Also, you might not want to go more than 10' - 12' with USB cables. Power loss issues start to pop up.

Do you potentially have the AT commands for a WE826 and MC7455

WE826 is reading the SIM, just not getting a connection. Changed APN to r.ispsn, no luck

Thu May 13 16:59:55 2021 : /dev/ttyUSB1 AT+CPMS="SM"
+CPMS: 0,0,0,0,0,0
OK
This is the only error that shows up in modem debugger

What comes back from the AT command:
Code: Select all
AT+CGDCONT?

Re: Budget replacement for Linkzone 2 on Calyx
UPDATE:
Got the WE826/MC7455 to grab the network, so far no issues. I had to flash the generic firmware (Modem was set to VERIZON for some reason)
Getting speeds around 15-25mbps down and 8-12mbps upload

Re: Budget replacement for Linkzone 2 on Calyx
I have the following:
Quectel EM12-G CAT12 M.2 Modem
NEXQ6GO-M Cellular WiFi Router
698-2700MHz 6dBi-8dBi 4G LTE Omni Antenna (Vertical) N Type Male
I used the AT commands above and everything seems to be working great. My question is do the above commands also add the Tmobile bands as backup? If not what are those commands? Thank you!

Re: Budget replacement for Linkzone 2 on Calyx
The T-mobile bands that are supported by the EM12, all but 71, will be used automatically when there are no Sprint bands available. Should work that way at least
