Inconsistent Speeds Across Devices

Post by Aunger32 »

I’ll preface this post by saying I’m a complete novice at all this. I have a WE826GO-U with an MC7455 which I’ve been running a Visible sim in for about 6 months. I mainly use the setup for working while traveling in my RV. I noticed recently that my work laptop gets consistently worse speeds than my iPhone 11. I realize there’s a ton of variables that come into play here, but can anyone make any suggestions for troubleshooting or resolving?

Here are a couple Speedtest.net results from my current location taken a few hours apart:
Work Laptop over CAT 6 Ethernet Cable
-Ping 77 ms Download 1.30 Mbps
-Ping 79 ms Download 1.52 Mbps
iPhone 11
-Ping 57 ms Download 20.02 Mbps
-Ping 60 ms Download 22.19 Mbps

Here are my laptop network adapters in case that’s a contributing factor:
-Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260
-Intel Ethernet Connection I219-LM

Here are my cellular signal strength results from my current location (which is in line of site of a Verizon tower):

To clarify, is this iphone11 speed test done when the iphone is connected to the WE826 via WiFi?

If not, is the iPhone also using a Visible SIM of it's own?

Yes the iPhone 11 is connected via WiFi to the WE826. Speed test was done with cellular data turned off.

It also might be important to note that the laptop speeds are even slower when connected to the WE826 over WiFi (like <1 Mbps down) vs through the CAT 6 Ethernet cable.

I tried disconnecting my iPhone from the Wifi and running a few speed tests on the laptop so see if it was maybe hogging bandwidth, but the speeds remained unchanged.
