Hello! I have a ubiquiti network already built with controller and using a unifi security gateway as my router. I have been using att nighthawk with the router in the DMZ but I am using too much data.
I have just ordered calyx. What would be the best device if I am just looking for a modem? Do I still need to purchase a router to run the modem card in? Or are there options for just a modem that I could connect my existing router setup to?
Thank you!

Re: Modem Only configuration calyx
You would need a router that had the drivers to use the modem.
It's usually simpler to purchase the routers that can do this.
If you want a decent modem that can use the Calyx connection, the Category 6 Quectel EM06A works well. The EM12G or Sierra EM7565 work a tad better, and the Quectel EM160R-GL would be the same level of modem that is on your M1 Nighthawk.
If you want a Nighthawk level of LTE modem and a router it can drop right into:
Router: https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/routers/lte-rou ... 8ghz-wifi/
Modem: https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/modems/quectel- ... m-2-modem/
Upgraded power supply (optional, higher end modems get power hungry when going into Carrier Aggregation): https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/power-adapter/1 ... 2-1mm-tip/
If you want something with a little less cost there are options, but sometimes you have to adapt the parts with more cost in adapters, etc.
I personally like the WG3526-P router from The Wireless Haven
https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/routers/lte-routers/wg3526-p/
But it would need the following to use that modem:
2x https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/cables/pigtail- ... ail-cable/
2x https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/cables/pigtail- ... ail-cable/
and 1x https://thewirelesshaven.com/shop/pcie-m-2/mini-p ... card-slot/
