Looking at New Modems

Post by moonunit0103 »

Hi,

Looking at upgrading my MC7455, which is in a WG3526, to a modem with 4x4CA, and more channels, for future flexibility.

I am in a rural area, so I am not sure whether 5G will ever reach my neck of the woods.

What do you suggest?

Should the WG3526 be able to handle the upgrade? Already have a higher ampere power supply.

Hello,
Yes I believe the WG3526 will do just fine with new modem. From what I hear on here the quectel is a good choice for 4x4 mimo modem.
Been considering this myself. One question that concerns me also living in the country. Are all towers 4x4 mimo compatible?

I live out in the country, I have the EM160 that I'm testing in a H761. I did have a Telit 960 in a 3526 doing 4xMIMO with no issues. But the EM160 seems to be a solid choice as most of the towers near me will do 3xCA, near the towns I sometimes see 4xCA. Its 4xMIMO and I have not had to create band groups yet on it.
