Hi, I'm looking at getting a higher cat modem. I'm trying to decide between the engineering release EM-20 or the production release EM-160. I haven't been able to find detailed info on the EM160, but know it appears to have a little less umphh than the 20 despite being newer.
For all the experts on here, if you were going to build a new personal setup, which one would you be using and why?
Thanks

Re: EM20 vs EM160
Go with the EM160
Mine has work pretty close to flawlessly including auto APN entry. I just plugged it in and it worked.
Its 4x4 MIMO and overall faster than you can get access to on the cell towers anyway.
It uses the newer commands that come on the 5G modems, so youll need access to the 5G modem AT commands, there isnt an AT commands manual for the em160 posted just yet.
The EM20 is a badass modem, its just getting rare and expensive.
