Anyone use a Cisco 819 cell router with T-mobile? Possible?

Post by tonymn »

These units were apparently never defined to work with T-mobile that i can tell. The card that may work is the MC7455? Any input would be awesome. I have a few now of the cisco 819's one att and 2 verizon model.

I am also wondering if its possible to put, the firmware for the MC7455 for example on the card that comes with the verizon 819? or is it impossible to get it to read the tmobile bands with the other carrier card? is it software or hardware that it is missing?

I would really like to use tmobile network where i want to place this at cabin for reception issues. Other carriers are sparse.

Thank you!

no. currently it has mc7350. the other has mc7750.
i am wondering if i can swap out and put sierra model for tmobile mc7455 inside. ? then what?

or

what about the 7350 and 7750 makes it only work for verizon? is it physical or software? can they be flashed with 7455 and then work on those bands? i'm new to this kindof.

thanks!

Ill bet you can swap in an mc7455, purely guessing. The 7750 and 7350 on use one firmware image. You cannot flash other modem firmware images to them.
