Most I have tried other than the main stream providers (i.e., Amazon, Netflix, Hulu...) seem to have lagging/buffering issues.
I have used Kodi off and on for a while, but have never had much luck with it being stable either.

You do not need to change your COM port with the EM12-G with the WiFiX firmware. In fact, you can disrupt its ability to properly communicate with the AT command COM port. It appears the network has deregistered your SIM card/plan.
Some of the carriers are checking the IMEI of the modem to make sure it matches that of the plan.
I would test a different SIM Card if you have one to eliminate that as your problem.

You can lock the modem to band 13 or lock the band to 4 but this would prevent the modem from doing CA. It is possible the carrier/network is placing the modem in idle state to preserve its resources.
Do this seem to happen when there is not much activity on the router?
Run and post the results of AT!GSTATUS? while signals are good, and after they drop.

One needs to take care when inserting a sim card into this router. It only takes once to insert the sim card in the wrong direction to destroy the clicking spring that locks the sim card into place. I know this from personal experience.

I ordered the EM7455 because it was about 1/4 the cost of the MC7455. Guess we'll see how that goes. Is there a USB header on the router PCB? I cannot tell from the photos on The Wireless Haven. If it does, I would consider using a USB to M2 adapter and mount it somewhere internally for the second modem. How did your repair on the modem connectors come out?

Those UFL connectors are tedious to work with and easy to spread apart. I have managed to reshape/close them using a tiny set of needle-nose pliers and a magnifying glass. I have also ruined one or two in the process. The good part is your modem connectors appear to be good and rounded.

If you have no modem tab, then something as happened in the upload process. Upload a new image of GoldenOrb and make certain the save settings checkbox is unchecked. When completed, you should have the modem tab.
I would not use the configuration file to restore it since something was not right.
