Inseego M2000 T-Mobile Hotspot Won't Update

We purchased an M2000 5G hotspot from T-Mo back in February. My husband performed an update on the hotspot, and it appears that update has hosed the hotspot.
Things that are broken:
* Admin website
* Hotspot doesn't display the plan data amount and amount used.
* Messages not showing on the hotspot (1 unread on T-mo site, but zero on the hotspot)
* Will not install any other updates; just keeps searching
The hotspot is still passing data (we're getting almost 400Mb down today!), and it seems to be staying up and stable. I verified the phone number on the hotspot at least matches our plan, and that it passes data via USB tether as well as wifi. We've done multiple system resets, with no improvement. I'm wondering if one of our updates didn't complete properly, and we got either a partial update, or some OS admin system files/permissions got hosed in the process.
I'm looking for some suggestions on how to troubleshoot this on my own before I try going to either T-Mo or Inseego. From what I've read online so far, there's not much help available from either company. As a last resort we will try to take it to a T-Mo shop and see if they'll exchange it (or maybe Inseego will replace it for us), but I'm not holding my breath.
